I agree completely. I just hope some stans (whether new or old) don't set their hopes too high. Like, she'll likely always be an A-lister, but I very much doubt she'll ever be on top of that list again.

The media broke her down, sure, but that seems to have been all but destined from the start. In fact, her breakdown very well served as the catalyst for her comeback.

It's the c-ship that truly "broke" Britney imo, and quite frankly I don't blame her. She appears to be in a great spot nowadays, which is fantastic, but it doesn't negate the years between 2008 and 2013. C-ship was made permanent in 09. The reigns then appeared be loosened by the end of 2012. I doubt her apathetic behavior was a coincidence.

I still think that entire situation was cruel, unusual, illegal, and immoral. I get mad everytime I think of it.

It is not entirely Britney's fault, but she did start the demise on her own. I don't blame her. It was obvious she didn't have a healthy support system back in 2003 and 2004. But her career was thriving and she was hitting new peaks in many areas. People (not only fans) started to view her as a legitimate icon and heck, she even won a Grammy. If she stayed focused, she could have reached new heights. But enough of the coulda woulda shoulda - it is what it is. Britney isn't the star she was from 2008-2011 and she never will be. Fans need to realize this because a lot of them still do not.

The media tore her down, but also gave her a lot of chances. Frankly, she just doesn't give a **** anymore and she has a good reason not to. All in all, it's still sad to see and as a selfish stan, it's quite frustrating.
