Denying Britney's impact is just simply being hateful. All of the major pop girls today cite her as an influence. She's surely no legend, but she still has the most impact from any musician post-late 90s.

Hell no, Aaliyah isn't an R&B Legend -- death or not.

When I think of R&B Legend I think of Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, Usher, Babyface, Beyonce, all artists who've been popular in the R&B community for decades, took R&B to Mainstream heights, had actual CLASSIC R&B albums, have influenced a whole generation of artists that are copies.

Aaliyah has that 'generation influence' (which is really just everyone and their mothers claiming they loved her because she died + was pretty), but that's it.

She's an R&B icon, along the likes of Brandy, Ciara, Chris Brown, Ginuwine, etc.

You notice the gap in everything between those two groups? Aaliyah fits right in with the 2nd group.
