Everyone's scores are just fine

(Except sk8erfan's one score)

I know that a lot of participants are listening to albums/songs for the first time, so the scores will never be perfect. I'm old and have been an MC stan for so long that I'm 100% confident in my scores--I know every song in this rate well enough to know how I really feel about it.

BUT even I can change my mind about a song. 20+ years later, I'll Be There just grew on me a few weeks ago

So I understand that tastes change and that some of the horrific scores included here are subject to change. I believe in my heart that one day you will all come to realize Memoirs is her best album, but I understand you may need some time to realize that!

Sometimes I think this too, but nah. In the 90s not only was her voice was so much better but her vocals were so much more creative and musically impressive. Even in like Never Forget You I can be impressed by the ad libs in the end, as opposed to the the mere octave jumping that plagued a lot of Mariah's 2000s work.

I love TTR personally. I like the instrumental a lot, esp. the very quiet, peaceful opening compared to the final chorus. I put on that song every now and then when I'm having a bad day and it helps me find inner strength. It's like Hero, but not terrible.

Ignore the vocals, they're a whole nother story, I'm talking about the overall sound of the song, it's a classic Mariah ballad in every aspect yet it gets the hate her new material is getting...

Through the Rain is her most epic self-worthy and soul-motivating ballad, to be honest. Her only song with this type of message that I really can use. No sweet sugar lyrics. Maybe instrumental isn't great masterpiece, but it sounds very alive and heartfelt for me.

Also I can't believe that people didn't hear Through the Rain when it was released in 2002. She performed it everywhere and Charmbracelet's first-week sales was great and better than Butterfly's debut week.

Based on my personal opinion and impact on my life:
Through the Rain > Can't Take That Away > ∞ > Hero

I used to get Outside and Looking In confused. Why would you make the last song on your album called Outside when the last song on your last album was called Looking In? So confusing. (I prefer Looking In, btw.)

Actually, my main form of promotion is to lurk in MC threads and see if anyone shows good taste and knowledge of non-singles. Then I write on their wall or PM. But if they stan for Charmy or Rainbow I say nothing
