We all know stanning for Avril is like signing your soul to the devil but on the long list of things she's messed up I highly doubt an AD t-shirt and pink microphone in a music video really count. This isn't her launching an era, it isn't a proper single, she's barely even in the video. Her attire doesn't matter. If you think it does, you're clearly free to say so, but people are going to question you - as they already have. It goes both ways, we're all allowed to talk.

Personally, I don't see the big deal regardless of what the video was for. Abbey Dawn and TBDT are both parts of her career. If it was the Let Go star on the microphone instead I'm sure people would be calling it a cute throwback rather than questioning why she didn't go buy a new microphone for the scene.

I know it's not any of that, but I feel uncomfortable when I see her keep portraying that image, even though it was something "casual" (which I don't really think it is, but whatever). For the record, I don't really like when she makes "throwbacks", but it bothers me how she values some eras more than others. I'll admit that a TBDT one makes me more disappointed than any other one, because it's my least favourite era, for many reasons that you probably know by now. If she appreciated all eras the same way, it wouldn't bother me that much or even at all. But she clearly appreciates more the eras where she was more successful and relevant, especially TBDT which was her last one. I want her to make that step forward and finally show a grown-up and mature image, and seeing her portraying her most immature image (IMO) in what might be an opportunity to get serious; it bothers me and makes me unconfident about future music endeavours. Maybe I overreacted a bit and I should've worded it better, but I stick with my disapproval towards that certain detail. And again, I hope the video gets lots of money for the good cause. Let's move on...
