Yes, dressing like she was still in 2007/8 is wrong, indeed The rest of the video is nice, but that image kind of ruined it for me, more than MM songs ruined GL.

What is wrong with you idiots. Between you and Caleb. This song isn't about Avril. It's not the start of a huge promo campaign for a new era. It's about giving back. OH NO, she's using her studio mic at her house, and dressing in pink. Kill that satanist bitch! How dare she release a charity single, and not look a million dollars.

So if she does something I don't really like, I have to shut up and say nothing just because it's for a good cause, right? I don't give a **** about success and charts, and the more money the song/video can get, the better. But I didn't like that she portrayed that immature and even stupid image once again, especially when a more mature and serious image would be more appropiate (to me, at least). For instance, if she had dressed like she dressed while she met the children in the video, it would be fine. But yeah, you better insult me to prove your point

It's a hoodie, get over it. If you're so against the colour pink that it's capable of putting you off an entire video, I suggest you get yourself evaluated. She's in a studio singing a song for kids, not at the Grammys.
If you think she looks immature, that's your limited perspective. Poor you.

It's not just the hoodie, there's an "old" AD t-shirt and a TBDT microphone as well. Believe me, I've been understanding since years ago, and I've remained as a fan despite all the disappointments coming from her, including cancelling a concert I was attending without giving explanations, delaying albums without explanation, and a lot of other things I didn't like. If you want to believe I'm "limited" because I don't like something she's done even though it was for a good cause, up to you; but I won't shut myself up when I think she's done something wrong and could've been done better. I already said the rest of the video is good and I hope the song/video gets a lot of money for the Special Olympics, just because I don't like a certain aspect of the video, it doesn't mean I don't support it, especially if it's for a good cause. Whatever...

Nobody's trying to shut you up, just point out that you're acting rather petty over something that as of yet literally nobody else has found issue with.
We all know stanning for Avril is like signing your soul to the devil but on the long list of things she's messed up I highly doubt an AD t-shirt and pink microphone in a music video really count. This isn't her launching an era, it isn't a proper single, she's barely even in the video. Her attire doesn't matter. If you think it does, you're clearly free to say so, but people are going to question you - as they already have. It goes both ways, we're all allowed to talk.
Personally, I don't see the big deal regardless of what the video was for. Abbey Dawn and TBDT are both parts of her career. If it was the Let Go star on the microphone instead I'm sure people would be calling it a cute throwback rather than questioning why she didn't go buy a new microphone for the scene.
