Really, if she had a single out this summer...it kind of looks like she'd have a clear path. No Katy, no Beyonce, no Adele, no Madonna, no Taylor, Rihanna is floundering and Britney is unlikely to pull focus.

A summer banger would be brilliant.
I'd be here for it, it doesn't have to follow an immediate album release, just a buzz single to be released and it can even go on LG5 later on to pique interests. A lot of artists have done that and it really ends up working out for them in the best way because they don't have to worry about following up with a 2nd single to match the 1st's success.

Well, if it's the RedOne single then it's totally fair game. If anything, getting that out of the way before she potentially changes musical direction makes sense.
I'm relatively satisfied that Gaga & Bobby are on top of it, though.

Except the musical landscape isn't entirely made up of female artists. Gaga will always have competition when it comes to chart action. Sometimes you just have to remove yourself from the usual ATRL mindset to notice it.
I'd be SO ready for a summer single from her. Especially since I haven't been feeling pop music in what feels like forever. A summertime Promiscuous/Hips Don't Lie-level jam is severely needed.
I've overheard your theory, nostalgia's for geeks
I guess sir, if you say so, some of us just like to read
One second I'm a Koons then suddenly the Koons is me
Pop culture was in ART, now ART's in pop culure in me
I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause - plause, live for the applause - plause
Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me
The Applause, applause, applause
It's one of those nights where Applause just SLAYS me

That's every night for me
I remember when the "Pop culture was in art..." line leaked and people thought it was for a new song called Pop Culture. Good times
It slayed me, I still love the way her voice sounds in that lyric specifically

A Gaga-only single would make no sense any time soon. The album's not done and pushing forward with a single when the album's still being made would only make things messy.
If it's the RedOne single then that would actually be pretty great. Not much thought would have to be put into it but I'm not sure if Gaga would want to do that or not.
You guys are just thirsty for new Gaga material. Let's give her time and hopefully she will come up with great songs. No overproduction, No cheesy lyrics. That's how I see it; This era will either push her further down or restorate her reign as a pop force.

You're dreaming a bit at the "no cheesy lyrics" but other wise I agree. I think people just don't want her to disappear from the mainstream music scene completely. I know that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I definitely can say that I'm excited to see what she comes up with.
