So now instead of Side Effects landing where it should go based on actual opinion, it will stay in the bottom 1/3 of the rate while mediocre songs with just average scores rise to the top. (And this example doesn't matter much cause Tigre doesn't even really like SE, but you get my point.)
I understand rates are a matter of opinion and it's all just for laughs, but some of the rates I have so far seem to be clearly influenced by false perceptions on how others are going to rate. I don't want to give anything away, but as one example, I simply can't believe that after all the acclaim (both critical and from Lambs on ATRL) the first half of Butterfly has, that the songs from it are ranked where they currently are. So I have to assume people are rating them lower because they want their favorite 'underdog' songs to get recognition. But if you think both My All and All My Life deserve 10s, you should give them both 10s, not sabotage the more popular one because you think it's "too popular."
In the end, the results of the rates will not reflect actual opinion on songs but instead how perceived opinions alter scores, and therefore the whole point of the rate is kind of gone. I'm just here to add, divide, and supply the graphics, so I'll do that, but just remember y'all, don't even TRY to come for me when Butterfly's highest ranking song is in the 30s and a Charmbracelet song wins. If I posted the results as they are now, I can already see the meltdowns
(Wait, this kind of reads like a rant, but I'm not crying on the bathroom floor or anything, I'm just pointing out why you should rate honestly! )
