AIDS was almost like a plague in the 90s, and I believe ''One Sweet Day'' turned Mariah into a gay icon for delivering such a tender song about such a heavy issue
That's true but I don't know if people actually knew the song was about this very issue.
The show is Country based but it's about singers of all kinds. For instance there's a black girl who wants to do Country but her label is pushing her towards R&B/Pop. X is playing The Queen of Pop trying to break into Country. A reverse Tayloose.
Naomi Watts is best known for her dramatic roles, beginning with her stunning transformation in David Lynch’s Mulholland Dr., and including mesmerizing performances in 21 Grams, The Painted Veil, and The Impossible. But lately, she’s demonstrated her funny side, with slyly comedic roles in Birdman, St. Vincent, and Noah Baumbach’s While We’re Young, which expands nationwide on Friday.
Seyfried’s favorite scene, as she explains in this exclusive featurette, takes place in the the hip-hop class to which she drags Watts’ blindsided character. It’s a perfect Baumbach movie moment—ultimately hilarious after initially excruciating—and Watts finds the perfect comic rhythm.
