There are people who legitimately think she's a some legend and get offended about her being called a nostalgia act. The fact that people still bring up her OLD receipts, can't bring up a recent performance where she slayed and pretty much all of her hits within the last few years got sucked out by bigger hits from Gaga, Rihanna and the like just prove that. She's our childhood pop star that we will never forget and will always mention when we're looking back on pop music from 1998-2004 and also remember the time when she was such a media force, but this whole 'she is in the same lane as Mike and Madge' and BritBots pretending that Beyoncé hasn't surpassed her in every which way possible is pure delusion.

I already know Beyonce passed her, but it's unfair to classify Britney with the bubblegum pop acts from the late 90s when she's way ahead of them. I mean, she still saw great success 10 years into her career. Lets not forget that Circus opened with 505k and sold 2 million copies in just one month. If she cared about her career and actually put enough effort, she'd still be relevant just like Beyonce. But yes, with no shoulda coulda woulda bs, she ****ed everything up for herself and is now a flop/nostalgia act.
