The problem with Britney is that she's a nostalgia act, like a legitimate nostalgia act. And the most annoying part about it is that she didn't have to become one.

She was still very much a formidable and relevant competitor in the Pop scene with the FF era, no matter what people want to think. She was getting #1's and Top 10s domestically, and she went on a world tour.

She was automatically placed in that nostalgia category when her team signed her up for the Vegas residency and squashed whatever chance BJ had to prosper.

Yes, she's doing well in Vegas, but she still could've been pumping out hits and still could've had that Pop exposure if not for her team, and her too. I know Britney didn't want to tour and is happy in Vegas, but it's annoying.

Britney doesn't need to be revered by the GP to have memorable songs, so I dunno why you tried that. People like Madonna prove that you can be disliked and still have memorable hits. Her recurrent airplay proves nothing imo. Britney was never radio dependent, and she didn't even get her biggest radio hit until 2011, thirteen years into her career.

But whatever. Defending Britney on ATRL is kind of pointless since y'all will never listen to reason. Yall will continue sounding like a broken record no matter how long the receipts are.

Lol. They are Britney's "classics" but they aren't classics in the same way I Will Always Love You, All I Want For Christmas, etc are. Nobody is playing them now, they aren't being referred to still. They are all kind of forgotten until you mention them tbqh. They are classics in the same sense as "Wanna Be" and "I Want It That Way" that if people play them it's like "omgz remember this song?" but they're not like, you might hear them at the barbecue type classics.
