She has had much more than a month of promo. "I Bet" premiered in January and is just now really kicking off. It's best she not wait around. The album should defiantly be available during the tour.
Very intrigued by the release date. It's so close.
The fact it starts day after tour is especially interesting. How will she promote? She has a New York date on the 5th, hence will be able to do TV promo on and around that date (she has a day off tour the day after).
She doesn't hit the West Coast until end of the month, though, which makes shows like Kimmel, etc several weeks after album if she can book them.
Still, it may be a good thing and see promo spread out rather than condensed into the usual "impact week" of promo artists continue to make the mistake of doing. At the moment, I like the "different" approach to promo her team/label are taking. It's a risk, but seems rooted in the understanding that they have to try something new with her.
I'd personally love to see her make those short videos for each song like she did for self-titled. Clearly, there wasn't much budget. But it was a great look and provided content for online outlets to run with. Also with streaming being such a big deal now, it could definitely help her even more this go round.
Hopefully she pre-tapes a few shows too so as to have maximum presence on TV and online during release week.
My view is that its partly thanks to Body Party that IB is doing this well now on urban radio, however... The album itself ("Ciara") was more appreciated by a wider audience than her previous two, so apparently that's helped her gain more hype and interest for this album. Overdose & Livin' It Up are bigger than some of her signature tracks on Spotify which says a lot considering they were never released as singles.
The best thing about this era so far is that they've dared waiting for the lead single to grow bigger instead of scrapping it and even the next try... The "Ciara" era had 5 singles if we include Sweat, Sorry and Got Me Good, and all these 3 were released prior to the later announced official lead single BP! So... hopefully with the first single being succesful this time around, they're planning to milk the album with several singles... releasing the album now is therefore a brilliant plan!
