Yes but it's pretty much the same as the audio used in the R8 experience and the Direct TV thing. I mean the fact that we can't hear her voice at all in any of the places we've heard the song makes me worry. Unless they're deliberately cutting her vocals out of all the snippets but the question would be, why? They have no problem with us hearing different bits of American Oxygen
Like I said this video was BTS footage, not the actual commercial. And March Madness is a different thing, AO is their theme song.
Also even if it was an interlude or intro, it would still feature Rihanna's vocals, what's the point of having a beat with a sample of Florence's vocals with just 2 words as an album interlude? I think I've never heard any album interlude / intro that doesn't feature vocals from the artist, at least not when the track lasts 1/2 minutes.
Lets summarize the tragicness of the era so far:
TRAGIC DECISION #1: "What the **** Rihanna just released as her first single? " 25.1.2015.
Level of Tragicness: ■■■□□ (3/5)
The first of many tragic moves this era has to be a sub-par, Jonas Brothers wannabe, "artistic", "simple", "raw" in other words LACKING lead single. What the **** was she thinking releasing this? Anyways, it got lukewarm reception from the GP (from such GP that was actually aware of it, since the whole single release was such a non-event, and that is tragic enough to be a sub category of Tragic Decision (TD from now on) number #1, making it TD #1.1). However, the song is good enough to do great on the charts, and given her star power, it could easily slay for being a new Rihanna single and completely different than everything else out. But it didn't, which leads us to TD #2.
TRAGIC DECISION #2: "Rihanna is too cool to promote her new single" As of now
Level of Tragicness: ■■■■□ (4/5)
So now that the shock from TD #1 has wore off, FFS is actually doing good on iTunes WW. Giving it one extremely good performance, it shot straight to #1 on iTunes. The song is gaining momentum. But nope! No more promo, nothing. FFS could've easily hit #1 on BB Hot 100 if Rih gave more ****s about that than covering 47 magazines. No more performances, instead we are getting messy HOME album soundtrack which made the mess even bigger (TD #2.1, but deserves to be called TD #2.5, since it's a major TD) Some may argue why is TD #1 ranged with less starts than TD #2 but that's because you almost have everything served to you to get a #1 hit yet you refuse. TD in its truest form.
TRAGIC DECISION #3: "I love the new video! It's raw, artistic, simple but effective!" 3.2.2015
Level of Tragicness: ■■■□□ (3/5)
No. It's trash. If you have a sub-par song, the least you can do is put an effort in it's music video. But no, we got another What Now ****, uninspiring, lazy and bland music video. And it's showing. The tragic VEVO videos confirm this trash is trash, no replay value at all.
TRAGIC DECISION #4: "****-Z, Dumbness, Tidal and EbbTidal" 26.3.2015
Level of Tragicness: ■■■■□ (4/5)
I said everything I think about this few pages earlier, so let me just put it in two sentences: Her management is not putting her material on Spotify that greatly counts towards chart positions no matter that she's #1 ranked Female on it. TRAGIC. Instead, they are using her material to promote and lure people into that flop Tidal. Even more tragic.
This is perfectly fine but you also need to consider that performances are not just about promoting the music, they're also about promoting yourself as an artist and your talent and I don't think that should ever stop. One of the biggest takeaways from the Four Five Seconds release was that it would yield some great live vocals but we've only gotten one showing of that. And beyond that, it's just FUN for fans. You say enjoy the music but enjoying the music is beyond just listening to it on an iPod. Live performances, interviews (where she talks about the music), all these things increase the vibrancy of the era and add up to the overall experience for fans. Wanting more is only natural.
I completely understand what you're saying sis I really do. I'd like more also but in a way she's kinda getting me more amped for what is to come. I Think she's doing this on purpose and if I'm wrong I'll eat my words but she's just trying to build anticipation without necessarily shoving herself down people's throats when it comes to promotion. I was PISSED she didn't perform at the Brits but then again there are more performances to come (March Madness). I've just gotten so frustrated with everyone bitching about EVERY little thing this era. I'm a hybrid but I've always connected with the Navy but lately it's always someone complaining, and bringing some type of negativity to the base about what she isn't doing and it's annoying. We all want more but bitching does NOTHING.
And to make matters worse it seems people are more worried about the charts than Rihanna is herself. I don't care about FFS and its chart performance that much because I like the song. Yeah it could have been number one but if Rih isn't pressed why should I care? She's still seeing a lot of success and at this stage of her career I'm just happy she didn't fall off like so many people predicted years ago.
I don't f**king get it. Why are you guys so surprised?? What were y'all expecting?? For her previous eras Rihanna didn't start promoting/performing until 10 days before the album came out. We had to wait 2 months to get the first televised live performance of Diamonds & WFL.
How long till the interview/comedy act thing? BBHMM is about to slip from #1 in the US in a couple hours, if they play a lot of the song it might save it for another day
