I can't see
any of the girls SLAYING solo like everyone wants to believe. Some of the girls might have star power and some might have a legion of fans behind them but they were put in a group because they wouldn't survive as soloists. They all lack one thing that pushes them into being that perfect soloist - however, I'd say Dinah comes close to having that full package - brilliant vocalist, excellent performer and captivating personality. But the music that I see Dinah and Normani releasing seems like RNB/Urban Pop Music like the likes of Sevyn and Tinashe that won't really make much of an impact. Just look at the state of the current
new female solo artists we have are already'; they are struggling - Tori Kelly, Tinashe, Sevyn, Charli XCX and Jasmine V. The industry is really hostile when it comes to female artists - everyone literally dragged Tinashe to pits when she was hailed the new Beyonce and is constantly facing criticism because of it. I don't even think Camila wants a solo singing career in fact she seems more like a singer/songwriter type - she recently was in the studio writing a song for LunchMoney Lewis' album and it's made the cut.
Plus the fact that all the girls' solo releases will be managed by Sony/Syco after they split isn't a good thing either. It's likely to bomb
