So just because they are thankful that they get to release music to the masses doesn't mean they can't meet and discuss releasing it on their own terms? I don't understand how them having an opportunity means that they can't take other opportunities to better it for themselves. That's just business.

But I really wish they had more UNDERGROUND artists being promoted in this or true indie people and not all of these big named artists that have a big machine supporting them.

It's the principle. Music shouldn't be free and with Spotify it might as well be free. It's someone's creative output. It's not something you have a right to. This could actually benefit lesser known musicians and indie artists. They're not all rich.

People on ATRL seem to have this mentality of "they're already worth $1 billion, why do they want more money "

That's not how ambition works. Jay Z is a businessman. He's ambitious. Why should a company make millions (potentially billions) off songwriter's and singer's material just because they provide it to the consumer? They're essentially getting rid of the middle man. A middle man who does nothing and get paids hundreds of millions of dollars to do it.

Yeah, Jay Z has enough money, but he's expanding his empire, like all entrepreneurs do. Why be like "ehhh, I have enough money" when you could make your empire even bigger?
