I'm gonna be honest here, I don't think 1989 deserves a nomination for AOTY, lyrically RED is miles better. The production is top notch, but songs like IWYW, WTNY and HYGTG are dull and forgettable fillers with no sense. BB is a Laving-Perra song, The rest of the album is a 10/10, but those songs are still there and the quality of the album goes down. thank god for the deluxe tracks.

I agree that Red deserved AOTY more, but that doesn't mean 1989 doesn't as well. They just both do

It'd be embarrassing if Lord's pop material doesn't get her at least one Grammy so anything's passable at this point tbh.

Eh, 1989 is way better than RED honestly and deserves the AOTY title. IWYW, WTNY and HYGTG are amazing songs, as is the rest of this album.

It's the opposite for me. I just love how literal it is, so relatable. "You always knew how to push my buttons, you give me everything and nothing" is one of the best lines she's ever written too. Let's not get into the song structure, the Lord & Jack are a match made in heaven (let's forget YAIL exists). 
Anyway, I just remembered you think I Know Places is good so whatevz.
