How does this work though because I have never listened to Brooke Candy, Fergie or Skye Ferreira in my iTunes/Spotify and they showed up in my artist list

They explained weirdly. Basically they take your top 50 artists and find 20 similar artists to each of those artists. All those artists are compiled into a big list. The stuff like Ariana Grande (17) means she was in that list of 20 similar artists for 17 of your top 50 artists. 50 times 20 = 1000, thus your score is how many different artists you had in your full list of similar artists to your top 50. Does that make sense?

Okay it makes more sense now. I got a 585 now which is not as good as I would've wanted it to be :/
