Beyonce: Tickets for new tour moving slower than expected
April 25, 3:48 PM
Beyonce could play to many empty seats
Oh no, Daddy Knowles is gonna flip over this! Beyonce’s upcoming
I Am..2009 Tour is not selling out instantly like expected. Several tickets are still available for almost every single date, including ones in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and many more.
Judging by early ticket sales, Beyonce will definitely bring money in. However, as an insider has told me, ticket sales are nowhere as strong as expected. “They were hoping to add multiple dates to the tour and it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.” An extra date was added in NYC but low ticket sales in Chicago and other cities have forced the plans for multiple dates down.
It was highly rumored that Daddy Knowles wanted Beyonce to play in huge stadiums like Dodger’s Stadium in Los Angeles, Soldier Field in Chicago, and Giants Stadium in New Jersey. “Thank god this didn’t happen,” my insider tells me. "Either those shows would have been cancelled or there would have been more empty seats than filled ones.”
Daddy Knowles and other Beyonce psychophants will probably blame the economy. However, both U2 and Madonna have both recently posted stadium sellouts of 50,000 seats or more. Bruce Springsteen, despite his recent album bombing, has posted multiple arena sellouts in many cities. Perhaps Daddy Knowles and Beyonce shouldn’t be that upset; all the reverb created by the empty seats should create some great sound effects.
