She is no house hold name thats for sure, but I think it would be unusual if you asked someone who she was and they had no idea, unless they were from Woop Woop or something. Even if they know her as the girl who sang Tik Tok, her name is much more recognisable then say someone on similar success to her, like Ciara.

I think people actually underrate how much of a household name she is/was. If you played TiK ToK to random people today or asked them if they'd heard of Kesha, the majority of people would know who you were talking about. She was all over the radio, all over the news etc. She's not a currently relevant artist and she's not on the minds of the average person, but if prompted people would remember her, definitely.

I mean Timber alone would be enough for people to at least go, "Yeah, she sang that Timber song," or whatever. She's known but not constantly thought about such as the likes of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.

Agreed. Even if she is a big name in the music scene right now, her NYFW looks managed to make headlines in heaps of dirtsheets and music articles.

At one party last year I somehow got in control of the music that was being played through the Apple TV through my iPod and I was playing random radio hit dance songs I knew everyone liked at the time like I Need You Love by Calvin/Ellie and Big Banana by Havana Brown and then I played Crazy Kids (the will.i.am version ) and everyone was going awf and even though I was highly intoxicated underage I heard some girl who I didn't know say to some guy, "Is this Ke$ha? Is this Ke$ha? I love Ke$ha!"
