I just wanna know, what was 45S actually supposed to accomplish? The fans hate it, it's too boring for the gp, I don't get it?

Yes but she doesn't need hype to be successful.

If it's too boring for the GP, then why is it successful?

Because it's Rihanna!? And it might be successful but it's nowhere near the success of her last few first singles (since y'all insist it's not the lead )

Dont project your opinions on others as if they're factual.
- Not everybody hates the song so pls and if the GP thought it was boring nobody would support it and publications wouldn't have praised it.
& when did she flash her **** at the world cup

It's more successful than What Now, Right Now, Jump (in Australia), Pour It Up, Where Have You Been, Talk That Talk, You Da One, California King Bed, Man Down, Rockstar 101, Te Amo, Hard, Russian Roulette, Hate That I Love You, Rehab, If I Never See Your Face Again, Shut Up and Drive, Unfaithful, Break It Off, We Ride and If It's Loving That U Want. It's also equally successful as Stay.
And, as proven by the previous examples, the GP doesn't buy whatever Rihanna puts out. The song is a hit because it's a great, catchy song first and foremost. Rihanna's brand helped it a lot, but it's not the only reason why it's doing well.

It was her first new song in over 2 years, it had been highly anticipated since 2013, don't act like it did as good as we expected

It won't even outsell PRISM or Artpop, let alone BEYONCE.

Actually, half of ATRL was claiming Rihanna's selling power was due to her constant presence and yearly releases, so people were doubting her comeback single would do well. Nobody had any unrealistic expectations that 45S failed to match, not even most of her stans. By "we" you probably mean yourself and a few other people that thought she was in some way obligated to churn out an 8x platinum #1 hit that would stay on top for 23 weeks.

peaking at #2 means nothing. It probably will.
It will outsell it. It will also notch more weeks in the top 10.FourFiveSeconds is already a bigger hit than every Beyonce song since Halo. This thread isn't about Beyoncé.

OH
It went to #1 on iTunes and went to #4 on BB, and was praised by critics and has 60m+ views already.
But i guess that was just the Navy.

That's not always a good thing.Gaga sold millions of copies of born this way the song and while it showed she could sell anything at that point,it did hurt her in the long run
In a way yes,she couldn't take the charts by storm like many would've thought and I don't see this album selling much tbh, could even go under 200k opening week
