Anyways I'm so excited. I liked all 4 seasons tbh, so I was here for season 5 either way, but I'll definitely say now that I guarantee this role is perfect for Gaga and she will KILL it and surprise everyone.

If that casting call is accurate, I'm kinda scared, cuz that means it's definitely gonna have a focus on a particular character (Carla/Gaga), which is something that's not really good for the season. Murder House is the closest we had to an ensemble main cast; the rest, it was obvious there was a "main" character, with Lana in Asylum, then Fiona in Coven and Elsa in Freak Show. That's not a good thing for the show.

I don't know why we should trust that casting call anyways. Last year the cast hardly knew anything about the writing, let alone some irrelevant news outlet.

I don't think we should predict the series based on the casting call. It's not confirmed, and even if it is, it's a very early concept. There will likely be a lot of changes as new cast members are added.

I would call Coven an ensemble cast. Fiona would be the featured character, but I don't think she gets so much more screen time than the others to call her the "main" character. All of their personalities and roles (except for Zoe ) are consistently highlighted and shown throughout the season.

I fear that Ryan or the writers will try to tailor Gaga's character to her persona. If done correctly, it could be fantastic. I think it's more likely that Gaga's character will end up being a flamboyant, eccentric cabaret singer or something, though, if they try it.

I really hope Taissa and Evan Peters come nowhere near Hotel.

Evan Peters has portrayed annoying or pointless characters for the past two seasons, and it feels like they're keeping him there because he's familiar. Better male actors came with Freak Show. Have Wes or Finn portray the young, male character this time around and let Evan sit a season out.

Taissa's acting in AHS has never been up to par. She was given a great character in Murder House and a horrid one in Coven, but she managed to do nothing with either. There was still potential left in Violet, and while Zoe wasn't entirely her fault, she could have done more. She's probably very talented, but it doesn't come across on AHS.

I understand why Jessica's leave is probably a healthy thing for the show, I still want her to be present. Maybe give her a Myrtle-sized role?

Remember the clue in the second episode of Freakshow? Top Hat?

I saw a member on Twitter saying Top Hat was a movie in the '30s with Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers. The initial scene is in a hotel and they sing Cheek to Cheek in the film. This would've hinted both at the theme of this season and at the Gaga's participation. It's definitely a way less in-your-face hint than Operation Top Hat or the other things we used to talk about so it may be plausible. I wonder if Gaga was already in talk back then, though.

To be fair, he's run Glee and AHS concurrently since AHS began. Glee ends this season, so that frees up his schedule. I have a feeling that (at least) one of the shows is going to suffer, though. I doubt he'd book Gaga and then pay AHS dust, and Scream Queens shows a lot of promise. So, I'd bet on it being American Crime Story.

Did anyone ever notice that in Asylum, when Dr. Arden hired a prostitute, she referred to him as Stanley, and we later discovered that he had a micropenis, while in Freak Show, Stanley had an abnormally large one? I always thought that was kinda hilarious.

Nah. Gaga's gonna be in the main cast. She'll be at the end where the "with" and "and"'s come in, since that's where the bigger stars go.
