Her hits before then except for AIWFCIY, Hero, and MAYBE Always Be My Baby were just as forgotten then as they are now. The overwhelming majority of hits were completely forgotten by the time of her comeback, and what does her getting a hit around that time have to be with it being "remembered" anyway?

Wtf? Why are you naming songs that weren't even released as singles, and songs that peaked at like #98? The desperation in that alone.

Mariah has a crop of memorable hits, and a crop of hits that were memorable in 2005. Always Be My Baby, Hero, Fantasy, Vision of Love, and Emotions. On top of that she had #1 hits that were everywhere in that moment.

Marian fans always go on about her songwriting skills but most of her songs are badly written. She pandered to that bland US r&b trend of the 90s and benefitted from it at the time (hence her huge US hits) but as the trend is forgotten, so are her hits. At one point she just started whispering over samples. Fantasy and Heartbreaker are essentially the same song.

Take A Bow performed like a typical Mariah song, and is one of Madonna's least remembered #1s worldwide.

AIWFCIY is the most recurrent female song ever, so she wins from that alone. Hero, Always Be My Baby, and Fantasy are her next T3 recurrent songs in US -- all have went Gold digitally, despite being released over 20 years ago with ABMB nearing Platinum.

WBT has 100 million views on VEVO + I'll Be There, Hero, and Without You receive nice airplay in Europe. Emotions & Vision of Love still have their moments of being brought up due to the vocal power and influence on female singers.
