Rihanna - What's My Name? (feat. Drake) See above again, but needed even less (235K) to get #1.

Rihanna - Only Girl (In the World) A bunch of songs were really strong smashes in November 2010, but none were overshadowing the other. OG got lucky through a $0.99 discount and dominating airplay.

P!nk - Raise Your Glass Pretty much same reasoning as OG, except didn't have a discount. This one never hit #1 on HDS.

Wiz Khalifa - Black & Yellow Convenient timing due to Superbowl w/ The Steelers this year & Grenade having peaked.

Rihanna - S&M (feat. Britney Spears) Most obvious example of the decade, in my opinion. Only barely beat the super strong E.T. for #1 that week because of the remix hype.

Pitbull - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) Snuck inbetween RITD & PRA for a quick week at #1. Excellent airplay, with the help of latin formats, helped it happen.

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) Was always stuck behind PRA until a simultaneous remix & discount well after PRA had peaked.

LMFAO - Sexy & I Know It Was smashing during Christmas and got a huge Christmas week boost after having been stuck behind WFL for weeks on end. It was always significantly behind WFL in terms of airplay and barely ahead in sales until the very end of the year boost.

Flo Rida - Whistle CMM was already well past peaked and there was no other huge dominating smash incoming for the time being. He swooped right in before Taylor came with WANEGBT and crushed him.

Maroon 5 - One More Night Should've only gotten 1-2 weeks at #1, if that, but benefitted from the Billboard formula not including VEVO or YT. Otherwise, Gangnam Style would've blocked it for weeks. It also never hit #1 on HDS.

Bauuer - Harlem Shake Probably the weirdest #1 of the decade. Streaming was double the weight it is now at the time, so it probably wouldn't have gotten 5 weeks at #1 now like it did in 2013.

Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man snuck inbetween Thrift Shop & JGMAR thanks to a discount.

MAGIC! - Rude Peaked during slow and dog days of summer where competition was seriously lacking. Its weekly sales (and final sales) are lukewarm and it came after Fancy had peaked. The song it blocked has far outlasted it (Stay With Me).

Not 4 solo singles by Rihanna.

A song spending more than 2 weeks at #1 is not because there was "no competition". People saying Rude Boy and other multiple week hits are so wrong. Rude Boy blocked big hits like Telephone from even hitting top 2 from artists with two big stanbases. The Hot 100 is not the HDS chart. There are way more factors to take into play. MusicTalker's list is wrong.

The success of this song is underrated tbh, it had more impact and is more remembered than some of the songs even listed here. I mean it ended the run of one of the biggest singles of the decade, then stayed at number one for two weeks and returned to the top spot after 2 different singles (by Kesha and Rihanna) dethroned it, then pulled off the rest with longevity and all


Anyway, I’m going to go with most of the songs in 2014, (Happy, Fancy, Rude, AATB). They still would have hit number one regardless, but most of their weeks at number one barely had any strong competition at times
