Rude, One more night, We found love, Only girl in the world, S&M, Blank space, Happy, hold it against me
Basically all #1's off of Loud weren't very large hits but had no competition so ended up going #1.

I love P!nk but I always seem to forget Raise Your Glass hit number one. But pretty much all the songs around that time were alternating number one because of lack of strong competition.

We Found Take Over Control's Instrumental got so lucky.
Just about every radio-based Hot 100 #1.

And definitely Rude too.

iirc, We Are Young definitely had competition. Remember the drama when Boyfriend sold ~500k or so and didn't hit #1?

HIAM had enough chart points that it could have spent 2 weeks at #1 and was up against "Grenade" which has sold almost 6M singles, morecombinede than either of our faves have ever done

The meltdowns were hilarious
One of those weeks, they implement that damn on-demand chart (which really screwed things up imo). I think the formula is good now though.

I didn't read through the whole thing but the last page

This decade EDITED LIST
Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart (feat. Ludacris) he was a complete unknown and got a #1 in the debut week of his first single. He took advantage of Imma Be peaking and no huge competition oncoming in late winter/spring 2010 (Rude Boy was the next #1 and also a lucky #1).
Rihanna - Rude Boy never hit #1 on HDS and took advantage of no song dominating spring 2010. Hey, Soul Sister consistently outsold it but lacked in airplay.
Far East Movement - Like a G6 (feat. the Cataracs & Dev) one of the most forgotten, least impactful #1s of the 2010s. It got lucky by peaking after JTWYA had, and no incoming dominating smash in Fall 2010.
Ke$ha - We R Who We R See above. Got lucky because it had a great debut sales week (280K), and Like a G6 was #1 at the time and not a strong one.
Rihanna - What's My Name? (feat. Drake) See above again, but needed even less (235K) to get #1.
Rihanna - Only Girl (In the World) A bunch of songs were really doing well in November 2010, but in the sense of being #1s, none of them looked like it. OG got lucky through a $0.99 discount and dominating airplay right before Firework exploded.
P!nk - Raise Your Glass Pretty much same reasoning as OG, except didn't have a discount. This one never hit #1 on HDS, and got lucky right before Firework swooped in.
Wiz Khalifa - Black & Yellow Convenient timing due to Superbowl w/ The Steelers this year & Grenade having peaked.
Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) Was always stuck behind PRA until a simultaneous remix & discount well after PRA had peaked.
Flo Rida - Whistle CMM was already well past peaked and there was no other huge dominating smash incoming for the time being. He swooped right in before Taylor came with WANEGBT and crushed him.
Maroon 5 - One More Night Should've only gotten 1-2 weeks at #1, if that, but benefited from the Billboard formula not including VEVO or YT. Otherwise, Gangnam Style would've blocked it for weeks. With this in mind, it freely dominated over GS and nothing came to stop it. It also never hit #1 on HDS.
MAGIC! - Rude Peaked during slow and dog days of summer where competition was seriously lacking. Its weekly sales (and final sales) are lukewarm and it came after Fancy had peaked. The song it blocked has far outlasted it (Stay With Me).

Wiz Khalifa - Black & Yellow Convenient timing due to Superbowl w/ The Steelers this year & Grenade having peaked.
Rihanna - S&M (feat. Britney Spears) Most obvious example of the decade, in my opinion. Only barely beat the super strong E.T. for #1 that week because of the remix hype.
Pitbull - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) Snuck inbetween RITD & PRA for a quick week at #1. Excellent airplay, with the help of latin formats, helped it happen.
Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) Was always stuck behind PRA until a simultaneous remix & discount well after PRA had peaked.
LMFAO - Sexy & I Know It Was smashing during Christmas and got a huge Christmas week boost after having been stuck behind WFL for weeks on end. It was always significantly behind WFL in terms of airplay and barely ahead in sales until the very end of the year boost.
Flo Rida - Whistle CMM was already well past peaked and there was no other huge dominating smash incoming for the time being. He swooped right in before Taylor came with WANEGBT and crushed him.
Maroon 5 - One More Night Should've only gotten 1-2 weeks at #1, if that, but benefitted from the Billboard formula not including VEVO or YT. Otherwise, Gangnam Style would've blocked it for weeks. It also never hit #1 on HDS.
Bauuer - Harlem Shake Probably the weirdest #1 of the decade. Streaming was double the weight it is now at the time, so it probably wouldn't have gotten 5 weeks at #1 now like it did in 2013.
Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man snuck inbetween Thrift Shop & JGMAR thanks to a discount.
MAGIC! - Rude Peaked during slow and dog days of summer where competition was seriously lacking. Its weekly sales (and final sales) are lukewarm and it came after Fancy had peaked. The song it blocked has far outlasted it (Stay With Me).

The whole concept of this thread is silly.
There are literally 99 other songs below it trying to overtake it

None of Bruno's #1's that's for sure
I don't see how 'Rude' had no competition but SWM was huge at the time.
I think WFL, its the only #1 this decade to be atop for 10 weeks or more to not go at least 6x platinum

Not when those three songs had humongous first week sales and big radio updates to make it happen
I mean HIAM had over 50m in airplay and 411k first week sales

Rude overstayed its welcome, six weeks atop and not even 3x platinum?
