They're very different. Ceremonials is more cohesive and mature, which isn't necessarily better, just different. I prefer C to L, but love both dearly. She really doesn't let down.
Ceremonials, btw, Is not over produced. I hate that term, it's so overused here. It is not overproduced--it's exactly the sound she wanted.
Anyway, I'm gonna miss the ceremonials era. It always takes me a while to get used to the new look. She's looked different from lungs to ceremonials and now to 3. I get she's going for a more raw, natural look than the classy, sophisticated look of ceremonials.
Ceremonials is much richer, but I don't really think it's overproduced. I think the production is fitting. & The lyrics alone on Ceremonials>>>>
But Lungs is amazing too, especially Heavy In Your Arms.
Lungs is better than Ceremonials, I do think Ceremonials is overproduced in some places just to make certain songs fit with the sound that they developed for the album, its still an amazing album.
This horn section in HBHBHB alone though > the quality is high
I cannot and I will not choose. They are both like my favorite albums of all time basically. It depends on my mood and honestly sometimes the season. I listen to Lungs more in like the spring and summer and Ceremonials more in like fall and winter.
So excited for this era. We've been waiting so long and it already seems like it is going to be flawless.
