And a sprinkle of soul.
Bey better hurry up. I'm not waiting 3 years for her next masterpiece. Life's too short for that.

That Jay will hold Bey back artistically. This album would have to appeal to both hip hop buyers and R&B/pop buyers... That only works when both directions are watered down a little. I'm not here for that.
And you know when you're jamming to a song and it's perfect and then all of a sudden there's a rapper right before the bridge... it ruins the flow.

I'm here for it tbh but I want B6 first, it doesn't feel like the right time to be doing a joint-album.. a bit too much maybe. I just don't need an album full of DIL songs in my life right now

Here the thing about the joint album, I feel without it we won't be seeing or hearing new Bey music for at least another 2 years. So I'm all take whatever I can get.
Jay is not a bad artist. His last album wasn't bad. It wasn't his best, but it wasn't terrible. Some of y'all talk as if he's just horrible. He's a rap legend. He can make great music. I'm interested in seeing what a joint album would sound like.

While I do like most of their songs together, this is the main reason for my reservation.
On top of this, I feel Bey is more experimental with her sound when shes not featuring Jay, with Jay shes "only" producing great RnB jams, but thats about it. I dont think we can expect any new styles or musical genres in case they really do the joint album, which is a pity cause Bey is able to slay a lot of different genres which surpasses Jays ability by a mile.

That's fair. I'm looking forward to it just due to having hopes that there will be some experimenting. I'd say that MCHG was Jay's most experimental album in regards to sound so hopefully that will reflect in future material. I do also think that this is a type of situation that's better done now vs. later.

I agree with all of this. I know Bey isn't gonna release anytime soon, that's why I'm cool with the joint album.
And I love Jay and I use MCHG.

I agree with the person above me. I don't have a problem with a joint album, actually I've been wishing for one since 2003, but now is not the right time. Beyoncé needs to release another solo album. After B5, all we got was Jay and Bey for an entire year, and Beyoncé barely promoted by herself when she just released a solo album. It makes no sense to me. And now, if we have to go through another era of Bey and Jay together, I feel like people are going to stop caring and that might hurt Beyoncé's future projects.

You think he'll hold her back? I don't think they would even go through with it if either of the 2 had reservations about not giving it their all in terms of the sound. MCHG gives me hopes that Jay would like to be more experimental with his sound. In my brain, I'm expecting songs along the line of Ugrade U, OTR, Holy Grail, and maybe a few experimental things.

MCHG bops. Jay adjusted to the times and did it well. People were just expecting his old sound. And we all know how he feels about that.

I really don't get it. People are going to talk about the Carters no matter what they do. Even before the joint tour. Bey has done NO interviews for her album, made only 4 appearances to award show, so why you think that her doing another solo album will mean less talk about her or Jay amuses me.
They are not overexposed because of their doing. They're not even overexposed if you ask me. They can't help that the media and blogs decided to jump on every little rumor surrounding them.

Probably.
Let's just say this. There won't be any Haunted type songs on this record if it does happen. I hope that they decide to do solo songs as well so we can get something fresh from them both.
I just don't understand the criticism about them being "overexposed" or that people will stop caring. They're both artists. It's not like either of them is shoving an untalented spouse down the public's throat. They've always done music together and people have always loved their collaborations.

I love BBC the most (after OTR), it's so dope and Bey's line
Jay's lyricism is still great tbh.

How amazing would that be to hear Jay on a song or even on some production like Haunted? It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Jay loves joint-albums so I think if Bey pushes the idea of experimenting, he'll be here for it.
Yeah, I never understood the overexposed arguments. I think it's just a cop out. The GP genuinely loves seeing them together and judging by the success of all their songs together, they love the music they make. There's no need to even mention the tour, that speaks for itself.

I would love if Jay went out of his comfort zone a little.. It's not like he hasn't experimented with music, he has. But Beyoncé is so next level now...

That's why I said it should be a 3 disc album.and it would be more successful because each would still be appealing to their own bases.

She's like a deity at this point. It's astonishing. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. I want them to shock the world.

That's a good idea but for that much, they should just do solo releases.

That's too much. Bey has a wide variety of fans and so does Jay. I think making music to appeal a specific type of fanbase would harm the integrity of the music. If people like the songs, they like the songs.
