All this doesn't't really matter anyway, because the people have already voiced their opinion that BEYONCÉ is the album of the year. Just like Herbie Hancock winning, no one remembers that album much. When you talk great albums of 2007, Amy's is the one that is going to be most discussed. This is just an award.
The Hive needs to stop being insecure about the loss (myself included, though I will say I'm not really insecure I'm more just liking the discussion that is happening and negating silly disparaging comments).
The Haters need to stop acting like the album's loss proves anything against BEYONCÉ, considering she was the only woman and the only popstar to be nominated. At the least its as the #5 Best Album according to the Grammys, and that is amazing.

Here's to hoping Beck doesn't pull a Macklemore and write Beyoncé a humble-braggy, self-serving apology letter.

The world knows about ha. Thank god.

Do we forget how the Grammys gave Esperanza Spalding (who is black) an undeserving Grammy for Best New Artist, OVER Florence (injustice), Mumford & Sons, Justin Bieber and Drake (who's half white).
It wasn't about race. Get it through your heads.

Shut up. Bey lost. NARAS didn't feel highly about it like we did. This snub is nothing like how Kendrick Lamar went away with nothing for an album that was far more acclaimed than Beyonce's album. So, get over it.

I agree 100%. But it's not Beck's fault.

I agree
I mean, I don't think the argument that implicit racism and sexism are involved is invalid,
but I think it mostly has to do with these lousy ass voters being biased towards certain genres

Please. Racism isn't always an absolute thing.
Just like if you started mentioning all the times that a white cop didn't kill a black young man, it doesn't take away from the fact that racism exists and is a problem.
We can say that we don't think in this case that race was a factor in Beck winning (I don't, Beyoncé is incredibly beloved and respected and it seems much likelier that the splitting of the votes gave Beck the advantage instead of his whiteness) but to completely deny racism is problematic.

People are still on this? My god. I thought we established that the rock vote got Beck the win. Why does race need to be brought up all the time now? And thank you for that perfect example. For a category talking about a New Artist, factors beside music should be consider and Esperanza was the most irrelevant name on that list.

I think this is an interesting piece of info from Tricky and why she probably lost Urban Contemporary. They didn't even want Bey in the R&B category. These people wanting to put DrIL in pop.
"I had a big huge fight this year trying to get Beyoncé to be acknowledged as Urban Contemporary," says Tricky Stewart, who produced Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Beyoncé's I AmSasha Fierce, and has a role in the Grammy selection process. "They told me that it was a pop song. 'Drunk in Love' is not a pop song. It wasn't intended to be 'I Kissed a Girl.' It became popular, and there's a difference." - Tricky Stewart

You girls can't tell others to get over it, tho I'm over it. You get over it. You're expressing your op and others have the right to express theirs. Next.

Between the splitting of the votes and the content of ST it was never in the cards for her to win. It was a given when the nominations came out. It's more bias then anything else. Every other album was about 10x more safe then ST. Yes, I will chalk it up to mostly bias and sexism. Racism? Hard to say 'cause they throw Grammys at Bey every year, lol.

Nope. Pharrell won Best Pop Solo Performance, and many believed that GIRL should have been placed in Pop Vocal Album.

Beck deserved that Grammy.
Why someone who uses tons of producers and writers be more deserving than someone who's album is fully written and composed by them (with better quality).
P.s: Get over it already, It's childish. Beyonce is at the blame too because she didn't tame her childish fans

Billboard throwing away all the importance they had because of their blind bias. No one will see BB as respectable anymore if they keep on being stupid and biased like this.

I'm done. There's no point arguing when topics like "white cop"/"black young man" pop up in a music discussion.
Time to tread carefully.

Im so glad Beck won. It shows that the GRAMMYs didn't choose Beyonce because her name is Beyonce. Morning Phase is amazing by the way.
