She was NEVER going to win. Period. You wanna know what killed her chances? Being a sexually liberated black woman competing against safe as hell white men. Had it not been Beck, it would have been Sam.

You know what? I'm ok with her losing because I know deep down somewhere it sparked a fire within her. I just know she's going to set the bar even higher with B6 and make it known why she's the best. I can see her actually promoting the record a lot not because she wants commercial success but to make sure the music is heard. She's coming for blood next round.

I love Sam. His album is great, but one note. Kind of like 21. And don't get me started on THAT mess.

And I don't think her losing has sparked anything inside of her. Some of you forget why she released the album the way she did. Not for money, accolades, and awards. She released the album because it's who she is at this moment. She's never going to make music so that she can win awards and get hit singles. It's about the passion. Yeah, AOTY would have been nice, but it wasn't her end game I believe.

She's going to continue on doing what makes her happy.

The "success" aspect of things wasn't my point. We know she's not in it for that but that doesn't mean that she can't take losing awards like AOTY as inspiration to make herself and her music even better. It's evident that she draws inspiration from everywhere. And with a versatile artists such as Bey, I don't think she even has a game end.

Just consider this. Beyoncé's album will be more remembered and more referenced than the other albums that won over her. So ultimately it doesn't matter.

Prince didn't win AOTY for Purple Rain (he did however win an Oscar).
