Yes? I never called her a punchline. I think she's awesome for many of the progressive things she did in the past. I have so much respect for her tbh. I was just saying that it is odd that MJ is on some kind of cult-like deity pedestal now that he is dead despite him very likely doing some unscrupulous things that anyone else would have had their career torn apart over.
MJ didn't challenge society the way Madonna did, he did some wonderful things too with Africa and helping children in need but Madge's fights for freedom of speech seems like something society didn't quite understand because it also opened doors for women and men expressin themselves, quite an issue back then

I agree with you completely. It's actually rather criminal how it isn't discussed more.
I don't see Madge having a sudden death like MJ, so maybe her death won't have the same impact as his but she will go down in history for her work and the doors she opened for many other popstars
