Why are you assuming she was rehearsing? She could have just been sitting in the dance studio smoking a cig with her vocal coach.

I just thought about this after seeing these pictures for the first time in a few years. I guess getting older, I realize how young she really was at this time. Becoming a symbol of pure sex at such a young age must have been very daunting and damaging.

Yup. Even during the In The Zone era, she implied that she felt exploited with her overly expressing her sexuality. She said something about it on her website in late 2004. Her sexuality eventually stole the attention from her music and overall talent, and I feel like she was disappointed because of that. Poor girl just loved to sing and dance, but her team pushed her to be overly sexual. I think it was one of the factors to her breakdown.

This cover may not seem shocking now, but when it came out in 1999 Britney Spears was just 17 – and hadn't even dipped her toes into a scandal. Even back then, she knew exactly what she was doing. Photographer David LaChapelle vividly recalls the late night shoot when Britney stripped down to her underwear until her shocked manager walked into the room. He demanded to know what was going on. "She went, 'Yeah, I don't feel comfortable,'" says the photographer. "At first I felt betrayed. But as soon as he walked out, Britney said 'Lock the door' and unbuttoned her shirt wide open."

That's why I hope she goes for the "artsy fartsy" album like she said. Because if she goes back to the hot producers, we're just going to get dated, leftover trash that they will give her.
|
Yet one of her most successful singles, "Womanizer," was produced by a previously unheard of group that clearly wouldn't be classified as expensive. She doesn't "need" expensive producers; many of her best songs weren't produced by huge producers.

I mean, wasn't Hold It Against Me a Katy leftover? Danja isn't even good anymore. Lol.

Does the fact that "Toxic" was a Kylie Minogue leftover somehow diminish the quality of the song?

Blackout and Circus were her comeback albums, and that's why quality producers wanted to work with her then.
Circus was a hit, and that's why Max and Luke gave Brit their best work on FF.
FF underperformed/was kind of a flop considering the year it was released, and that's why most of BJ's music is trash/mediocre. < No shade, just my opinion.
|
Producers were taking a huge risk by working with Britney on Circus. Her career and public image were in tatters and there was no guarantee that Circus was going to be a huge comeback. This did not stop producers like Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Danja, and Bloodshy & Avant from working with Britney and giving her some very high-quality tracks. It's easy to label Circus as a comeback in retrospect, but there was huge chance that it could have crashed and burned worse than Blackout.

By your logic, will.i.am should have given Britney his best material given the fact that she gave him his best selling solo single, Scream & Shout, which sold a very large amount of units.

Just because they're good producers it does not mean ALL of their tracks are good. They give their best tracks to the most popular artists, and Britney is not one of them anymore. Like I said, it's all business.
|
Who exactly was William Orbit working with at this time that you would describe as more popular that Britney Spears? Britney was the ONLY artist he produced for in 2013, so who exactly was he saving his "best tracks" for?
---
When you are talking about an artist of Britney's calibre, it doesn't matter how popular she currently is or how well she is currently selling. Producers will throw their best stuff (or at the very least not their bottom of the barrel stuff) just for the privilege of being on a Britney Spears album. Is Madonna as popular as she used to be? No. Does Madonna sell like she used to? No. This doesn't stop producers from working with Madonna and giving her quality material. Why? Because what producer wouldn't want to be on a Madonna album?! What producer wouldn't want to be on a BRITNEY SPEARS album? People dream about working with her, regardless of how well she is currently selling or how popular she currently is; they aren't going to give her trash.

Britney Jean only had the fillers. Even #willpower has songs like Reach for the Stars, Smile Mona Lisa, Gettin' Dumb, #ThatPower etc. that are better than anything on Britney Jean. Also Feelin' Myself is the catchiest song in a while.

That fact that you guys believe everything you read.
PS~ Regarding last week?s letter: I?m not the type of person to put blame on other people, but I do feel that some things which were done for me were not always in my best interests. Looking back, I feel now that on my 4th album ?less is more? should have been the way to go. As for me quitting the business for good, that is kind of harsh.

The same way you expect us to believe when we read your speculations about what you think happened in contrast to people who were there actually remembering?
