I didn't say pop collabs suck as in all pop collabs. I said they are often uninspired crap. Let me not get into which ones..

There are exceptions, though - like Just Give Me A Reason.

We have an example (possibly more than one) of someone being intimidated to sing with Kelly, so that's not false either.

And you can't honestly believe that HBS wouldn't be doing better if it had even a lick of promo so far. But thankfully radio is decent.

I also don't recall anyone saying "pop plays nothing but trash, so who cares that they're not playing Kelly."

Yeah, the fact is that Kelly puts in minimum effort. And there's a lot to the fact that there's hardly any real pop collaborators here for Kelly. Note; not saying that Kelly doesn't care (ya'll pointed out the fallacy to this). At this point, I'm just holding out for PxP to give me some bops.

I love that people are bitching about no collabs and "no one will sing with Kelly", "Kelly needs to push her musical stylings to get collabs" etc., yet she has one on PXP and another one coming out later this year.

Well I don't think that's exactly the case, she doesn't really openly bash award shoes. The VMA comment she made 3 years ago wasn't meant to be public

But even since then, she's seemed to be much more into them....she's live tweeted watching the VMA's and Grammy's the past few years when she hasn't been there.

I'm not holding my breath for her to be performing....aren't pretty much all of the performers either people who are nominated or older legendary artists? She performed in 2012 because she was nominated with Jason, and in 2013 because she was nominated with Stronger. She didn't even perform in 2009 when MLWSWY blew up.

I rather her use promo for the second single anyway. Especially since it would benefit the album more and gives her time to trim down a millimeter.

We get to bash her and her attempts at wanting Pop collabs. How many Pop stars has she tweeted in praise? How many Pop starts has she tweeted asking for a collab? SO MANY for both questions and basically .05% of them respond. The real funny things is the fact that not even Jessie J wanted to hop on the Kelly train when Kelly is a bigger star in the US than Jessie.

Not having music out isn't an excuse, lots of artists debut music at the Grammy's, or promote new music.

Madonna is a legendary artist though. And I can't think of many artists who have performed in recent years that weren't nominated (other than older, legendary acts).

It really needs bigger pop stations playing it. Kelly has an overall bigger AI than Ellie's song, yet Ellie is in the top 10 on iTunes. 17m of Ellie's AI comes from pop, only 8m of Kelly's comes from pop.

As of now, none of the major top 40 stations are playing it, and it's these stations that help give songs bigger updates.

Hope that changes soon...

How many other Pop stars do you see going out of their way to praise loads of performances for others, though? Occasionally, sure, but they probably don't do it as often as Kelly. Kelly doesn't see herself as being in competition with others and her ego is nonexistent. Are we forgetting the stars like P!nk who tweeted praise to Kelly when she blew the national anthem or My Country Tis of Thee out of the water? I think Kelly only replied to maybe one of those.

Kelly tweeting about wanting to collab =/= officially asking for the collab and sending the song. I agree it was embarrassing that none of the girls responded to that one tweet but I'll just hope it's because they didn't see it. Bottom line is we really don't know the reasons as to why or if Kelly even sent them a song so it's not really fair to judge based on a tweet, IMO.

Truth is, there's promo available. If she made an effort, she could get it. Same with collabs.

The only person holding Kelly back, is Kelly.

Agreed on that bit. Madonna is legendary, though. She'd get a performance slot over anyone else in the industry. We don't even know if Kelly's management/label attempted to get her a slot on the Grammy's.

Usually I feel like it's important to only request in your actual market, but I'm starting to not really care. I might try and zero in on KIIS again.. all the stations are pretty on to when people request outside of their market, but since they're on Satellite radio and I have that in my car, I'm a listener.
