There are better "different songs" from different artists, though. The song is climbing just because it's Rihanna anyway it's not her worst song.

But the chart run isn't abnormally good or bad, I mean even Fall Out Boy hit number 1 a few weeks ago. Everyone is either A.) Acting like this is going to debut with over 500k in sales or B.) Acting like the song is falling out of the top 100

Realistically, it's doing really well but everyone is acting like something unusual is happening

The Navy is just excited about this unexpected and 'weird' song performing better than the previous. That's it. We'll see about the longevity,, but that seems promising too, so far.
