Welcome back! Our next contestant left quite a stir in the house even clashing with a judge at a few points. He's loud, ratchet, and dramatic having a meltdown after each and every challenge. Sadly he was taken away to prison, but her via satellite is Jax!
Quote:
Jax, jax, jax, jax, jax. The Laganja Estranja of Top Member. You were most noted for having your meltdowns after every challenge. Do you think if you hadn’t you would have made it further?
no. there was a vendetta against me and i knew it. they never liked anything i did no matter what (except the smiley challenge hihi)
Supaspaz made it seem like he had an agenda against you, do you think that was fair?
no comment
Did you ever feel like no matter what you did, you just couldn’t satisfy the judges?
yep. i would get praised day and night from fellow competitors and your every day atrlers (who are what determine a top member. not a few atrl randoms and some mods) yet i would always fall near the bottom
Do you think there is a place in top members for loud and abrisve members like you and iHype or do you feel like theres a favoritism for more Cupid’s and Citrus type members?
I feel there's definitely favoritism. this is who i am and i wont change it. ive made a name for myself for being who i am. on atrl i am known for my loud and abrasive personality. before entering antm, i was a well known atrler known for not being some ***** ass member. i love cupid and citrus dearly but not everyone can be like them or else this site would be boring as ****.
When you left you said you and Cupid were basically top members, so saying that how do you feel about those in the finale?
and i do not take back those words! hihi. i feel that those in the finale were lesser known atrlers who had room to grow and make a name for themselves on the site. i feel the final 3 was so strong and amazing though. each truly great and individual
You have a chance to join again, would you? What changes would you like to see in Top Member?
**** no
i would like to see a change in the thought process of the judges. not every top member can fit the same mold of "cute, friendly, and quirky!"

If he was white you'd say he was confident, assertive and had a charming my way or the highway attitude that's been known to land him in deep water.

Good lord, you all need to stop perpetuating this falsehood. Go back and look at my comments to Jax over the weeks. They were positive when he did well in a challenge, and negative when he didn't. What is with all this lingering bitterness?

It's for the viewers at home Supaspaz, Matty needs the ratings so E! can renew him for season 13 and All Stars <3

Before we get to the top 5, lets get on to asking some judges some questions! He is a long time ATRL moderator, and a favorite judge of the top member house judging many many seasons and sometimes completing them! Lets all welcome Red!
Quote:
Hola Red, que tal? How you been? You've been a reoccurring on and off again judge for some time, what were your thoughts on this cycle?
I've been a little under the weather lately, but I once showed up in a wheelchair hooked up to an IV for a cycle, so I'm pretty sure I could be worse. I think that the top six or so of this cycle was the absolute best ANTM has ever seen, and I say that as someone who has, at the very least, followed ANTM for a long time. The entire group of Top Member hopefuls was very strong, and it was always going to be difficult to decide a winner, especially once it got down to the aforementioned top six.
Was there anything that surprised you this cycle? Something you didn't expect?
Honestly? I'm surprised that I actually judged most of the cycle. I didn't send in critiques a lot during this cycle, but I was following the cycle every step of the way and offering rankings and ratings. If you know me from previous ANTM cycles, then you know that this is a minor miracle. But I vowed that I was going to make it to the end of the cycle, and hey, I did.
I also found myself really drawn to Vespertine by the end of the challenge, especially through Vesper's final speech. That's one of the best things any Top Member contestant has ever done, and future contestants would be wise to look at that speech in the future to see what it takes to be a Top Member.
You said that your picks always end up winners, so who were those picks some of us are dying to know?!
I would say, "But that would ruin the fun", but I'm not that kind of person. I'm more than willing to talk about this particular subject. I don't necessarily "pick winners", per say, but generally, when someone impresses me early, there's a good chance they will be there at the end, hence why I always say that you have to start out strong. And who were my top two in the first challenge, the Username challenge? Citrus and Marq. Oh, and Citrus was tops in the rankings. That now means that, in the four cycles where I was able to judge the first challenge, three of my four top callouts in the first challenge wound up winning the competition. Start strong and finish strong.
How did you think the game did in the lounge section as opposed to the games section?
I think that it would have been successful if it had remained in the Games forum, but what moving ANTM to The Lounge did was make the competition that much more fierce. Every member who made it to the final 14 absolutely earned that distinction. Once it got down to the "nitty gritty", if you will, it became extremely tough to rank someone last, as everyone was bringing their "A" game. In that sense, I think that this particular cycle was a huge success, and I think it could mean that we see ANTM remain in The Lounge for the foreseeable future.
Were you surprised by any of the finalist? Is there someone who you expected to be up there that you didn't?
I was surprised by Vespertine making it that far. And with how I talked about him at the end, Vespertine probably knows that I feel this way, too. But, again, I think that Vespertine certainly earned the distinction of being top 3 at the end. I think that I just didn't really "get" his entries until very late in the cycle. That happens sometimes with me in ANTM. I get the wrong read on a competitor and it sticks until it's too late, usually. Thankfully, that didn't wind up being the case with Vespertine.
As for who I expected to make it all the way to the end...I think that all three finalists were equally deserving, but there's a part of me that wonders what would have changed if Cupid had made it. I think Citrus and Marq were pegged to be my "favorites" from the first challenge, but Cupid really won me over as the cycle went on. Cupid's elimination really shocked me, as I thought the top 3 was close to being a shoo-in by that point. Never take anything for granted.
Besides the winner or finalist is there anyone else on this cycle that you see becoming a "top member" around the site?
Well, it's obvious to see that I think Cupid will be a Top Member-level member before too long. Also, off the top of my head, I would say that iHype is already a Top Member. He certainly proved as such during the competition. And there's certainly a couple of members who competed this cycle who could prove to be a Top Member if they were to enter the next cycle. There's a lot of potential to be found among this group.
Do you have any last words for any of the judges or contestants before we finish?
Two things. First, to the contestants: You were all a joy to follow as the cycle went along. Easily the most fun overall group I've had the pleasure of judging, and I certainly hope that some of you return for future cycles. Second, to any future contestants: If you have followed this cycle, then you know how difficult the process was just to make it to the final group of 14, let alone to whittle it down to one Top Member. If you want to sign up for Cycle 13, then you better be ready to bring it, because the level of competition has gone up to the point that you can't breeze your way into the competition on reputation anymore. Start strong. Finish strong.
