Rihanna never topped itunes with Diamonds until like the 3rd or 4th week if I remember correctly, it stayed at #5 for weeks, I'm just seeing exactly what it was 3 years ago.

And it already peaked higher than Diamonds in its first week, so I really don't get the problem. Her singles always need a while to really take off. She'll get a massive boost after the Grammys and another one after next year's Grammys when she wins best pop song, so no need to worry for now.

Anyone who's followed her career should know that Rihanna ALWAYS has a slow start with her leads. They don't shoot straight up to #1 and that's precisely why they don't tumble back down them a week later. Icon is after longevity.

This will stall at #2 or #3, drop to the 20-30s in the next week or so as airplay builds and then shoot straight to the top with her first performance or the release of the video.

What is 'starpower' in your opinion, because if you ask me, starpower is not being very popular among kids because you had a main role in a Disney TV show.
Rihanna has a lot more starpower. She's a global icon, she's a main touring artist and she's a household name. And I have to admit that Diamonds has huge longetivity. Where's Wrecking Ball? Where's 'Heart Attack'? Those were released last year and Diamonds is from 2012, almost 3 years ago.
