Ugh, the 80's was arguably the worst decade for pop music. Anyone who feels that today's pop music is way too corporate-mandated and artificial needs to be grateful that they didn't grow up in that decade. At least 80% of the pop singers (and even rock singers to an extent) felt the need to incorporate crappy, repetitive synthesizers into literally every single song they recorded, and back then, record labels didn't even try to hide when they would be ripping off other artists.
With that all said, "Take on Me" by A-Ha is still one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
