Finally, I"m able to comment on yours. Glad that you're doing a Best of.
2013: Touch is so good. Bandz a Make Her Dance is a good stripper/club anthem. Blood On The Leaves, Applause, Diane Young, Latch, and the top 6 are all good.
102-98: I agree that Na Na is one of Mustard's beat.
97-93: Coming of Age is good, listening to that new Bruce song and whew, what a fun and firecracker of a song. High Hopes indeed.
92-88: Fire ball is terrible and I usually jam to Pitbull's music. Far Side of The Moon is a good one. Brilliant work by Tinashe. Yeah, but 7/11 is terrible.
87-83: Let me hear Foreign since I paid Trey dust. It's not bad and I can get into it. Hot video. Aquarius is wonderful and like the atmospheric vibe I get from it. The raindrop-like beats + Tinashe's smooth vocals = a healing remedy. Wait, did you shade Bet? How dare you, sir!
82-78: Angel Of Small Death And The Codeine Scene is one of my faves from the album. Speaking of which, did you know that I did an ATRL review on it? Also Tinashe and Tove Lo's albums. Didn't like Good Kisser. But I guess I should check out the remix.
77-73: Never Catch Me is decent, but a good sound that I'm not used to, Shades of Cool showcases Lana's beautiful song and I do like that psychedelic breakdown on the bridge. So good. Let's see about this Cal/Hurts track. Ecstasy sounds wonderful. The vocals are exceptional. Calvin's production is actually more better than usual and fits well with the vocals to make a smoothing and authentic song. This is some nice kind of ecstasy. The music ecstasty. Therapy sounds so nice. Whew. Didn't know that Mary had new music out. Love adventurous sounds.
72-68: Cadillactica sounds good. A fun song to get into. Glad to hear new Big K.R.I.T. music. Trophies is a Drake's living the good life and on top of the rap game song.
67-63: Empire is so wonderful.
62-58: Rocky can brag a bit because he can bang a bitch. Keeping it trill. For real. Good take on Brooklyn Baby. Pretend is an easy escape to wonderland and I like songs like that. If only we could pretend.
57-53: Let me listen to Oceans. Wonderful track.
Oh, I just scroll down and notice the best recommendations. I see that me along with ASF are there with Faded. Glad that you enjoy that song. The Zone making sure you listen to good new music. So it was GotSkill's countdown that I heard Bad Suns and got me to look for more songs by them.
52-48: I like Bottoms Up and the remix with T.I. Eternal Sunshine is one hell of a listening experience. Enjoyed it. PNP is a nice change of pace from Nicki. Too bad the GP wasn't here for this side of Nicki and ATRL don't care for it since it's a flop.
47-43: Take Me to Church is the best so far. A brilliant masterpiece.
42-36: Bated Breath is so good. One of my favs.
35-31: Break Free- This is the part where I didn't fall for its typical sh!t. Magic was a grower AND a downer, but it's great.
30-26: Talk Dirty to me. Cue the trumpets. Can't go wrong with trumpets, horns and fun songs that are actually listenable and all about that good fun.
Good job so far. I enjoyed listening to new music I never heard before. Can't wait for the rest.
I really didn't want to use the cover, but that was the only single cover on google images
Fantastic pop song though.

I'm glad you liked Drown Talk Dirty was my #66 song of 2013 since I got into it during the UK release
Did Hozier really debut on the same day as Tinashe? I had no idea, I love them both
I got into country in a big way in 2014 also One of those country singers you mentioned has an appearance here.
The US and its delayed reaction to awesome songs But if Talk Dirty did come out in 2014, it probably would have been terrible.
Hozier and Tinashe are amazing, pretty sure their albums dropped on the same day.

Honestly, TRF.
Aphex Twin already placed here. Great album though. You'e right about clipping though
Chiraq >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Only in every way. The subject matter, the sleek menacing minimal beat, Nicki's flow, it's one of the best rap tracks of the year and even though the Pinkprint was good, Chiraq is what it could've been.
24. She Came To Give It To You (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Usher -Yet To Come Album (if it ever does)
It may not have picked up much steam, but it is one of the best tracks of the year. It's light, it's funky, it's fun. Nicki's verse is fun, breezy, and fits the song. I can't think of a reason not to like this one.
23. Don't Wait - Mapei - Hey Hey
Don't Wait, I found out about this one because it was iTunes single of the week. I took a listen because she's on "Mary Jane" one of my favorite Major Lazer tracks. My first thought was: "what the hell is this song?" The Auto-tune the weird African hook The everything I put it aside for a couple days and found myself thinking about it. I played it again and everything clicked, it really is one of the est pop songs of the year, and sweetest also "if it wasn't for you / I'd be alone. If it wasn't for you / I'd have to hold my own." It's one of those sneaky songs that doesn't click at first and then takes over your life.
22. 0 To 100/The Catch-Up - Drake - Soundcloud Release
It's Drake and this is my countdown so of course this would be here. You get both sides of him on this one, the boasting and then the introspective guy behind all the boasting. Spring 2015!
21. Chasing Time - Azealia Banks - Broke With Expensive Taste
A multi-layered song that could equally be about Twitter, her label, or a relationship. It takes a lighter touch than the pummeling other tracks on Broke With Expensive Taste and is stronger for it. Fun fact: when she released this one, I was convinced that after years of waiting, the album had a chance of possibly maybe coming.
20. This track is possibly this pop girl's best song. It involves a party and candy.
19. It's a Bee Gees tributing single
18. What happens when the club doesn't need to go up on a Tuesday, a track by a southern rapper
17.
As I said before, one of the exceptions to the generally terrible album releases this year were artists who took a long time off. It had been awhile since Beck's last album and he delivered with this one. He's an artist known for out there music, but this one is relatively straight-forward singer songwriter stuff. It's a pleasant listen and sounds perfect while driving around on a sunny day.
30. The Budos Band - Burnt Offering
This one was a huge surprise. I did not expect an instrumental metal/latin album to be one of my favorites of the year, and here we are. This album is endlessly interesting and has a unique sound that is just kind of sludgy and dusty but still urgent and light. I don't know how to explain it beyond saying these guys are pretty talented and the album is an experience that recalls classic work, latin jazz, and classic metal but sill sounds modern without sounding contemporary.
29. Clipping. - Clppng
This album is one of the most annoyingly titled albums of the year. I always have a hard time figuring what the title is and what the artist name is. Either way the album is great: the production is completely futuristic but still bangs. Like I said earlier it's like the M.I.A. of MAYA was the inspiration of Dexter or if Eminem's Slim Shady alter-ego had free reign. It's a really visceral take on hip-hop that is completely engrossing. It's kind of hard to all take in at once though.
28. The Afghan Whigs - Do To The Beast
A comeback album after a hiatus that lasted more than a decade, Do To The Beast is pretty great. It's not anywhere near as good as their last album, 1965, which is one of my all-time favorites, but it is great. Do To The Beast continues their lusty dark soul-rock sound which only they are capable of. As a whole though, the album is lighter than 1965 and somehow does not sound as contemporary as that 16 year old album and Do To The Beast suffers from some claustrophobic and cheap sounding production, but overall it's very good, so good, they performed with Usher earlier this year. A collab on his album would be amazing
27. Damien Rice - My Favourite Faded Fantasy
He's kind of like Hozier 1.0 I realized. Not as dramatic and bombastic, but he covers similar ground. The album is very delicate and carefully crafted, mostly sticking with singer-songwriter folkly stuff, but occasionally the album will blossom with incredible flourishes. It's an album that might float by without you realizing it's playing, but when it gets your attention, it pays out. I'm doing a disservice to this one, you should listen if you're ok with more downtempo folk accented material because it's great.
That was a lot of rock albums from artists making a comeback I apologize, that's kind of boring.
Hints
26. This album has a Nicki Minaj feature and a DJ Mustard production
25. This album/mixtape hould play well in any season
24. This album by a Swedish singer worked with a well known electronic producer
23. London called for this album
22. This sophomore album was kind of slept on unfairly. It's great and had some singles on my songs charts.
Finally, I"m able to comment on yours. Glad that you're doing a Best of.

I think I was updating when you left your comment.
Thanks for checking out my best of Flame! I appreciate it!
Sounds like you didn't like the 92-88 update much with the Fireball and 7/11 Pitbull is a guilty pleasure for sure, there is no other way around that one.
I didn't know that you reviewed Hozier, let me go check out ATRL critic and read your review! I'm pretty sure I read your Aquarius review and loved reading what you had to say about the title track here, I never thought about the beats sounding like rain. The album is full of little details like that, it gets more impressive with each listen (except Bet) Good kisser is a grower. I hated it at first, the remix helped.
Thanks again to The Zone for Faded. Took a listen to the EP again yesterday and
I had no idea that Bottoms Up was remixed with T.I. let me go check that out.
Sorry about Break Free, I couldn't help myself
Also, thanks for checking out some of the songs, glad you loved Oceans!
Chasing Time is THE positive break-up bop. It's like those club songs that were smashing here in Europe in the early 00's, but better
Don't Wait is such an incredible song. I still have a few hopes that radio might randomly discover it and jump on it like a year later, a la Hozier
0 to 100 is such an anthem. Radios never play rap in my country, but this song was everywhere I remember some guys in my gym moving their protein shakes to it after getting a pump
She Came To Give It To You is kind of awesome. I wasn't impressed in the beginning, but it grew on me and Nicki's verse gives it the peak that it needs SHADE HIS SHELVED ALBUM THOUGH
Chi-Raq along with the other TPP buzz singles is bittersweet, knowing how much more of a statement TPP could have been
hey, i'm sorry I have yet to comment on yours so far. There's a lot I have missed, so I will go back to your past sets, but for now to talk about your Albums list: holy crap! your taste is so great! Any person who has Thee Oh Sees right beside (or rather, a couple places beside) Freddie Gibbs & Madlib deserves a lot of accolades and love. By the way, Thee Oh Sees haven't broken up. Well, John Dwyer announced the break-up, but I think it was mostly so he could make his Damaged Bug side project (which you should listen to, if you haven't!). As far as I know, Thee Oh Sees are still around, though the great Brigid Dawson and a couple other members aren't with the band any more. I think John Dwyer might have pulled a James Mercer and fired everybody, and just hired new people.
Sorry, this isn't Thee Oh Sees Fanclub Corner, so i'll stop lmao. LOVE Morning Phase! And Burnt Offering is a really awesome album. Different from past Budos Band albums, for the more metal-ish sound that you describe, but the great horns are still there.

Thanks for checking out my list Dr. Spaceman.I didn't think I would see any Thee Oh Sees fans here I knew there was some kind of side project but kept forgetting to check it. I'm definitely going to have to have a listen since I love his sound and if I'm not mistaken Castlemania was essentially a solo album from him (still my favorite album of theirs). I'm very ok with having a Thee Oh Sees fan club here
You know, this is the first Budos Band album I have heard, but I loved it. I definitely have to go back and listen to their other albums, I was incredibly impressed.
And Pinata, what can I say, the two offered up an album full of treats. I just wish I listened to it more.

Which club songs are we talking here? Because if you're talking Blue (I think that's Euro) I don't think I can get on board with that. If it's anything else, then yes. Azealia is the greatest
That would be incredible if Don't Wait caught on. I think it's too weird, but I thought the same thing about Tuesday, maybe Drake or Queen-of -Feature-success Legend X can lend a hand to Mapei to make her go from 0 to 100 real quick.
The Pinkprint could have been so much better It's fine, but what could have been
Like, I'm listening to Boss Ass Bitch right now

Thanks for checking out my best of ad the compliment. I listen to everything Sometimes the stuff is high quality, sometimes it's the music equivalent of junk food. It hits different spots if you feel me, I can't help it.
If I were to make a true objective Best Of list based on quality, some of this stuff would be replaced.

Yes my second choice for album of the year. If any other album wins, they should discontinue the category.
The opener to Ultraviolence and possibly the best track she has ever done. As soon as the guitar strums you know that you're in for a different type of Lana than the one showcased in Born To Die and Paradise. Where that Lana seemed to romanticize doomed relationships and tragedy, the Lana of Ultraviolence takes everyday relationships and makes them into tragedy. Nothing about Cruel World reads like a crushing song on an album named Ultraviolence, in fact, with a different delivery, it could be a triumphant song. Instead, Lana gives one of the most unhinged vocal performances I have ever heard, making wearing a little red party dress sound like the most demented act ever. It's the set up for the crushing reality that is the rest of the album and endlessly listenable and satisfying.
19. Holding On For Life - Broken Bells - After The Disco
After The Disco came out at the very beginning of last year. But it was a highlight of the (slow) first quarter. "Holding On For Life" despite the cheesy title is an endlessly interesting little song, sounding like its been reamed in from the cosmos. The synth hook is bewitching and strangely groovy.
18. Saturdays = Celebration (feat. Jamie N Commons) - Big K.R.I.T. - Cadillactica
This guy continues to be criminally underrated. He puts together the most soulful yet progressive rap tracks. This one is pure religion. I can't write enough to do it justice, just check it out it's incredile.
17. Something In The Water - Carrie Underwood - Greatest Hits: Decade #1
The female country song of the year. It's powerful, emotional, a little oversung, she looks like a cyborg on the cover art... I'm losing the point a little here. "Something In The Water" recasts Jaws with the power of Jesus and is incredible for that. The track is delivered with zeal and urgency, but is still very refreshing. It's an excellent song that affirms the title of her greatest hits, she has the talent to stay around for a long time.
16. Best Mistake (Big Sean) - Ariana Grande - My Everything
I was so excited for My Everything... The 1-2 punch of Problem and Break Free and then Best Mistake as the buzz single. The album turned out to be an uneven and disappointing mess, but its existence is justified for this album cut. The sound of this one is incredible. The moonlight piano line that runs through the song is beautiful, the production flourishes give it an eerie, dreamy feel. The soundscape enough is enough to vault it up here. But there's more to it than that[, Ariana's delivery is restrained and downbeat and wistful. Even Big Sean gives an endearingly clumsy searching rap verse that allows you to see another aspect of the relationship. It was a mistake not to release this as a single.
15.
14. The time ATRL does maintenance for me.
13. The only thing chalky Valentine's Day hearts are meant to say.
12. This song by this Voice Coach features drum playing in the video.
11. A song by the biggest spammers iTunes has ever known
An amazing production showcase, Trigga offers the best in contemporary R&B (Chris Brown who?). The whole album is sleek and stylish, polished and proper. The songs are also excellent: Na Na is white-hot, Y.A.S. is a ridiculous epic R&B song in the best possible way, Cake and Foreign gleam. One of the smoothest listens of the year.
25. BOOTS - WinterSpringSummerFall
It's a mixtape, but better than many albums released this year. If you liked Ghost/Haunted from Bey's album, there will be plenty to like here. BOOTS is one of the year's est discoveries and has this hypnotic R&B sound. It's more experimental and rougher around the edges than BEYONCE, but that just makes it all the more captivating. It features appearances from Kelela, Shlohmo, & Jeremih.
24. Neneh Cherry - Blank Project
Blank Project is an album about growing older. It's a sparse collection of reflective songs about missing loved ones, depression, the effects of aging on the body... It's heavy stuff, but a captivating listen. The production really elevated the mood with Four Tet handing production on several cuts. The album features a collaboration with fellow Swedish singer Robyn, on the semi-danceable? "Out Of The Black."
23. Mary J. Blige - The London Sessions
I have a couple Mary J. Blige albums but have never really gotten into them. I hears she was collaborating with Disclosure on this one and I had to check it out, even if that meant I would have to listen to a couple songs produced by the master of blandness Sam Smith. I was not disappointed. Occasionally there is some weak songwriting "Long Hard Look" and a couple other moments, but the album shifts between dance tracks and ballads with a cool and refreshing ease. It's an excellent album.
22. Phillip Phillips - Behind The Light
I don't really know why I liked this album as much as I did. I guess I like easy going rock music. Oh well, it's no big deal. The album though is a great collection of pop rock songs. Sometimes they get a little too poppy *"Unpack Your Heart") but they all remain great. There's not really much of a market for this album unfortunately though. He''s probably too inauthentic for rock radio and too rock for pop radio. Still though, the album is great, he has a unique voice and keeps it interesting.
Hints
21. A collab album from one of my main faves and his duet partner
20. A dance album from another one of my main faves. Might be popular in Manitoba.
19. This album tried to come for Coldplay, and lost
18. Grimes has a feature on this album. It's a rollercoaster ride!
17. The most disappointing pretty good album of the year. It has an impressive guest list though, bow down.
Yes! for Chi-raq. Should have still remained on the album even though there's basically Shanghai.
Don't Wait - hit that got away
Chasing Time, The London Sessions, 0 to 100
I need to check out most of these Didn't even know some had released.
