As much as I like
Prism, it’s kinda messy how the album ended up being a mish-mash of both the more acoustic Hot AC thing Katy was going for and Swedish Max Martin dance pop.
Like... you have the more stripped/emotionally honest songs ("Roar" + "Legendary "Lovers + "Unconditionally" + "By The Grace of God" + the bonus tracks). Then you have the more dancey stuff ("Birthday" + "This Is How We Do" + "Walking on Air" + "Love Me" + "This Moment"). And then the other songs are weird too, like "Dark Horse" which could've fit on the Hot AC side if you removed the rap + made it more piano driven, "Ghost" if you gave the lyrics a complete re-write + maybe made it more rock-ish, and "International Smile", which just belongs in the trash.
idk, all of the Hot AC stuff is rlly great, I wish she didn't put the dance tracks in even tho they bop.
