And Keri was flopping because her material was DATED. "Energy" was such a 2006 sound, and "Return The Favor" was the usual Timbaland beat that people got over after "The Way I Are". She finally got a sound that fit.

Madonna is an artist radio wouldn't really touch... '4 Minutes' got everyone's attention because of Justin, end of story. Like I said, why would Madonna choose to have Justin on her record? It's simple: he's hot at the moment and radio will play him. If it were any other solo track on Hard Candy it WILL flop on radio (see: 'Give It 2 Me'). The same can be said for Britney's "Boys" remix with Pharell. Her label was desperate to give Britney a hit for that era and decided to give her an "urban" edge after a line of flops... only difference is that it still flopped (due mostly to her ban on the radio). And even if Madonna had all those hits back in the day we can say the same thing for Janet... she called on (no pun intended) Nelly to help her out because her sound wasn't relevant anymore. She needed someone current to revitalize her. Do you honestly think "4 Minutes" would have been a hit (on the radio) without Justin? When was the last time Madonna had a radio hit? 'Hung Up' as I recall did fairly well, but the main reason for it's success was due to strong digital sales.
The case with Ciara is that she created a video for every single song she released for this era with the intention of making it a hit. These days it seems acceptable to have multiple "first" singles before the album release and in my opinion it's a sign of irrelevance. Britney would NEVER have to go through that because one is confident to know she will succeed regardless and is current no matter what period it is in music. Nor will she have to ask for anyone's (prominent) collaborative effort (Madonna is an exception, she wanted to appear on that track because let's be honest... she was at a low point at the time and needed a lift). This is why Ciara (at least, in this era) is in the likes of the Keris and Nicoles... they can't seem to make it on their own after multiple tries and decided to ask for help. It's worked for Keri and it's looking good for Ciara. I don't think it's a coincidence, but let's see what happens when Ciara's "second" single comes out.

^I don't know. "4 Minutes" without Justin isn't the same, I mean it's a duet, but still, I think it could've at least managed top 15 without Justin on it.

Ciara is obviously a crossover name if her song has 600+ bullet at Pop, regardless of Justin. So that is killed. JIVE ****ed her over many times and now they are making up for it.

By using Justin. Yes. Now, let's just drop this.
P.S. ~ I'm not a Ciara hater. Actually, I own Ciara: The Evolution and I've downloaded tracks from Goodies before.

The song isn't even that great anyway.
Never Ever >>>>>>>>>> Love Sex Magic
Maybe it'll grow on me, but as of right now, I really hope Never Ever becomes a bigger hit than Love Sex Magic.

Based on popularity and radio dominance:
Justin > T-Pain, Young Jeezy
See: Love, Sex, Magic > Go Girl, Never Ever
I like Go Girl, but bottom line is that no matter what quality music she produced it got overshadowed. But by collaborating with Justin it caught people's attention... whether the music was of quality or not. Britney fans should already be familiar to this!

Hun, don't let your Ciara stantics delude you. I've read your pathetic posts since Go Girl... then Never Ever... you've become so predictable I'm not even going to bother discussing anything with you.

LMAO. My "novel writing" self? Oh yeah, you're the one who is notorious for not being able to comprehend simple English. I apologize, I should have known you had "special" qualities about you before starting an intelligent conversation.
I'm out.
