Carrie Underwood planning new album and possible tour for 2015

Says Carrie, “I’m currently working, even still, on new music, as I’ll continue to do in 2015, and go from there. I mean, there should definitely be a proper album full of new music out soon.”

While she has a few festival dates on the books for 2015, Carrie expects to launch a full-fledged tour once the album is released.

“I’ve already signed on for some things for next year as far as shows go,” Carrie explains. “But as far as a proper ‘tour tour,’ that’ll happen after I have lots of new music.”

Now, let's start with "Something In The Water" ... we can all agree that her voice sounds extremely full and rich during the bridge when she belts those first two sustained notes ("CHAAAAAAAAAANGED" and the beginning of "STROOOOOOOONGer") right? Well, at the end of "STROOOONGEEEEEEER" she goes up a bit higher, you can hear right? Notice how the quality of her tone thins out a little bit compared to how it was on the first part. It sounds a bit thinner and perhaps more nasal.. That is because the placement is starting to change, and she tenses up the muscles in her throat in attempt to keep the note stable (because she feels where it's starting to change), thus resulting in more of a squeezed sound. Doesn't sound as full or rich as it normally does. That is because she's getting closer to the passaggio at that point, and it has not been CONNECTED to where she could just easily navigate through as the shift in resonance takes place. The same happens with "honey you ought KNOOOOOOOOOOOOW" in 'All American Girl.' I'll post more examples later on as the discussion ensues.

Honestly, the fact that Carrie is so naturally gifted and capable is likely the biggest problem as to why there seems to be no sense of urgency in getting the kind of intensive vocal training that would make so many things a million times easier for her. My fear is that as she ages, the damage from poor habits will eventually start to set in, and certain aspects of her voice will become compromised. That's why I wish that some of these "technically unsound" vocal habits could be addressed and worked through NOW.

I don't even have an account, but I lurk and I already know who I hate/dislike on that site. I'd probably get banned quickly because I criticize my faves on occasion and purposely rat out the people who can't tell the difference between trolling and constructive criticism.
