Announced release can build great hype and more people probably will be aware of the song at first while I'd say it rises the possibility of leaking.

Suprise release might benefit from the surprise factor and get a lot of publicity but I don't know if Kelly's new music is wanted enough by GP to really profit from the surprise release.

I would prefer regular release - announcement of the single, cover, snippet, sneakpeak of music video etc... This strategy worked well with MLWSWY and MKIA while the kind of surprise released CMB and TIU (like announced but not a long time ahead) did worse. This new single is Kelly's comeback single, no GH single or random country song though.

We know the single is coming imminently, with the album likely coming in March or April. I still believe it'll at least be announced next week, but if not, I would definitely think it'll be sometime this month.

OMG, again, she NEVER said anything about January 5th. Y'all just blend every bit of info we get.

The 5th date came from two different radio stations. One in the US, and the other in Australia.

I think new Kelly music is wanted enough that a surprise release would work. She's built up so much GP goodwill over the past few years with 'Stronger' (the album and song), WIR, the GH, all of the high profile gigs (Grammys, Super Bowl, Inauguration, etc), and her Grammy win. I think she's in the best place she's been in career wise since MLWSWY debuted at #1, or since Breakaway. I see posts so often about Kelly and her covers and all of that, she's pretty much a national treasure at this point. I have very high hopes for this single and album mainly because of these reasons. People want new music from her and the GP should be pretty interested in anything she puts out next, especially since she's been off of pop radio for 2 years now.
