Madonna might be performing with another artist, because technically you cannot perform unless you are a nominee or you're performing with a nominee. That being said, the Grammys has favorites and makes exceptions for certain artists. A few years ago, Justin Timberlake made his comeback performance at the Grammys despite not being nominated. That's why some of Adele's fans are expecting that they'd allow her to perform at the Grammys; they'll do whatever they can to get ratings, and she's an artist that would boost ratings. Madonna's also pretty popular, and I could see them making an exception for her. The Grammys may be prestigious, but ratings are far more important to them than prestige.

Hopefully Beyoncé will perform, too. Maybe we'll get a performance out of Kelly Clarkson, as well!
