Bad Romance had huge impact in the beginning but it's not enough! Firework has already influenced and impacted many people over the world hence why they continue to purchase it and stream it every year more than Bad Romance.

Only because it gets a little bump of about 5-10k additional copies each year for the 4th of July and it is currently higher on iTunes in most countries due to the new movie that features it does it automatically make it more impactful?

Firework is still selling too, definitely the song is more remembered than Bad romance.
And it is not like a bad thing, Bad romance was of course big, but there's nothing bad that another song made more impact that it. Firework just outlasted BR by a BIG margin. The world is not going to end.

Firework, because it actually has a message that empowers people and makes them want to listen to it, it's a timeless anthem. Bad Romance is a great dance-pop song with clever lyrics, but that's it, it's the kind of song that stops being "current" at the end of its run, that's why whenever people listen to it now they say "oh this song is so 2009".
