For a country chick it was risky, have you ever seen country artists crossover for good and really succeed ? Dolly Parton, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks and the list goes on...they all failed. Taylor reached the country superstar status and now she is re peaking in popularity to reach the pop superstar status. The fact that she succeeded at what she did with 1989 decreases the risk s visibility though

country format is not like rhytmic who embraced Rihanna even after she released EDM song as her lead single, so SIO is risky for me

Clean is risky, Bad Blood is risky, I know Places is risky.
This love is riskiest song on the album but SIO is not even half as risky as them. Even I wish you would is riskier than SIO.

Pop singles can be risky too.
