Tbh, Gaga's in real trouble if she couldn't make a song like Do What U Want smash. It is one the most radio friendly songs ever recorded and she promoted the living hell out of it, but it just barely scratched platinum and is long forgotten.
Her only real shot at making a comeback is releasing something like Poker Face or Just Dance that's either really fun/catchy and appealing to everyone, or strange, but still very captivating and memorable upon first listen.
