Run DMC , LL cool J , my girls salt and pepper , Afrika Bambaataa and NWA , KOOL AND THE GANG and public enemy are to think and many more he need to shut his ass up they made hip hop mainstream and global not no dam blondie
Blondie did nothing for hip hop that hip hop wasn't going to do I hope they read him for this ****** comment

He said she helped rap reach a new audience with Rapture which is true considering it was the first song with rapping to go top 40 let alone #1 on Billboard.
Of course artists like Run DMC & Salt and Pepper had more impact on actual Hip Hop.
@ Kool And the Gang though.

She can have a successful era, we're setting her up for the second era.

What you're doing is demeaning other people (specifically people of your race), for not having the same opinion as you. You don't like the fact that there is a wedge between white & black people, but then you're going and creating one between black people. And don't you get it? That's what anti-blacks want, for black people to be too busy fighting that they lose sight of the real issue All this anti-Iggy stuff is doing is holding you back.

Yea, this is partially why I made my post. It's just so self-destructive and non-productive. Not that there aren't black white-apologists, but I swear I've seen people throw that word around without regard ever since Banks said it. It's just so simple-minded to think that all these problems can be solved by your own personal solution and everyone else that doesn't agree must be wrong

He ALSO said, we wouldn't even have an empire if THIS SONG did not cross borders. Which in itself is it's whole other discussion.

Katy Perry has done so much for trap music, it would't be anywhere today without her.

Right, because abusing the word "coon" REEKS of education
If anybody's a coon, it's the woman who can't keep her composure during radio interviews, can't insult a gay person without calling them a ******, and tries to blame "the white man" for her being unsuccessful.

Now everytime a pop girl jumps on an urban trend and finds success, we should all bow down and throw that chick a BET award for her help.

Exactly why I only take a hand full of posters here seriously. Mostly everyone else is too ignorant and irrational to think for themselves. And they think throwing offensive words like coon around is ok, but will complain about people using the n-word. Like, stop being a follower, do some research, and think for yourself.

What made all of Azealia's fans suddenly think they're all-knowing descendants of Malcolm X Please save it.

I didn't see that tweet as it's not in the OP.
Well he's obviously reaching there.
But still, this hate towards Iggy is beyond ridiculous now and people can say it's not just about her skin colour but if a black girl from Australia had released Fancy and The New Classic noone would care anywhere near as much as they do with Iggy.
I don't even like her and think she's wack but come on. I'd be so disappointed if white country artists/fans came out and dragged Darius Rucker.

Wiliam better shuck and jive for all he's worth. He knows his bread and butter is in generic pop music-cosigning his main benefactors.

I agree the coon word is offensive and I will try to stop using it, but everything else stands.

Like this is that **** right there.
50 years from now, the history books will read: indentIn the late 1980s poverty-stricken, crime-ravaged ghettos of New York, singer Debbie Harris of rock group Blondie discovered a new form of music called hip hop. Their #1 single "Rapture", often considered the first fully-developed rap record, brought this new genre to the forefront of American culture. With the help from rappers such as Marky Mark and Vanilla Ice, hip hop became one of the most popular genres of the 90s.
indentAlthough it was known for its funky beats and carefree lyrics, hip hop also became a way for the people to talk about serious social issues. In particular, rappers Eminem and Macklemore, the former often referred to as the GOAT (ghetto slang for greatest of all time), were known for rapping about some of the toughest social subjects in intelligent and often controversial ways. However, as many feminists noted, what rap music lacked was the female voice. A male-dominated genre, hip-hop had never seen a female rapper achieve notable success. This changed in 2014 with the release of the game-changing hip-hop hit "Fancy" by Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea. Thank you, will.i.am. All this mess, and you still won't get a mention in the books. I hope the checks were worth it.

Acting like they've freedom marched. Ch...I want to know what has AB done, besides blast Iggy on Twitter, radio, etc. to actually help propel social economic relations between races and sexes. Has sis donated, joined a rally, marched with a hoodie? Or is she just using race as a means to try and tear down her "opponent" because she was NEVER this annoying earlier this year.
And of course this is what AB and her stans keep trying to overlook. AB is using a serious matter as a way to air out her own personal vindetta against Iggy, yet she's actually not done a DAMN thing for the movement.
