First off, she started and saw first mainstream success in 1998. Count that year and every year up until this year, and you get 17.
Second of all, you're still neglecting the fact that you're comparing Gaga in her 5th year to Britney, who's been in the industry for more than 3x as long. 5 years into Britney's career, she was still seeing huge success WW, and managed to get 3 WW #1 singles with what was her lowest-selling album to date (that still went multi-platinum and sold millions more WW).
And third of all, those Razor To Wrist numbers you Monsters never fail to bring up surely must have meant that Gaga's recent solo projects have done well for themselves, no? After all, she's supposedly Guinesses' most powerful pop star, (despite no real source aside from some ***'s Twitter post), and is proclaimed by her fans to be "THE MOST GLOBAL POP STAR!!!1111!!" Is she still doing well despite not being around for that long?
