Interesting timing for that statement. I do think people are swayed by chart positions but alot of her audience are teenagers who are easily impressionable so it's expected. She was very aware of her chart positions for quite sometime but now she speaks on it.hmm...

It'll be interesting to hear what she claims. I mean Mariah Carey didn't know about the charts until she started charting...and after she was very driven by success and #1s and such. The way Nicki tweets good chart positions on twitter makes me believe she is a follower of the charts also.

Not to mention Nicki has poised herself to achieve longevity with this album, hell it had already lasted pretty steadily for the 5-6ish months leading up to the release. It sucks to see people writing her off so easily just based on their dumbass preconceived perceptions of her when she just delivered the most cohesive body of work from her discography yet

Yeah by no means is her career over at all...just disappointing underwhelming numbers.
That said, I wouldn't consider Nicki a victim completely.
