That might have been true if she wasn't pregnant and had River. Aside from that, I never expected anything from a Xmas album. Other than the ear orgasm.

Lots of critics were quick to call UTT a new holiday classic last year, but it's up to the artist to get out in front of audiences each year, especially early on, to remind people that the song exists. It's definitely surprising that she's been so MIA this year given how much she loves the album, how much stock RCA put into it last year and how much she had pare down last year's promo.

The album was already the biggest selling album of the year, it doesn't have to be again. I bet that they will really push it next year tho. The album will hit one million, that's a given fact.

I think the point is more that it was just in the upper 20's and low 30's on iTunes, and as Christmas approaches, it drops to #90 when it should be rising. I don't expect it to be the biggest seller every year, but I also don't expect it to be #30 in the beginning of December and drop to #90 a week before Christmas.
