When I first went got to my PWI (predominately white institution) it was a bit of a cultural shock, going from a black high school to a "white" university. But white, black, asian - it don't matter, bitches love me.


I couldn't be the only black friend in a group though.

This. I have two main friend groups in college. One group is two Mexican girls and another black guy. The other group is 4 white girls, 2 latina girls, 1 white guy. I can handle both groups because they are racially/ethnically diverse. In my second group I am the only black person, but the 2 latinas adds diversity to the group outside myself. I love white people (most of them), but I couldn't be the only black guy in a sea of them. No thanks. I spent my childhood being the only black kid...no ma'am. Not again.

When I first got the college it wasn't really a culture shock per say even though I came from a predominately black town that was kinda segregated and went to an all black school.

But **** them white folks tried the **** out of it. Always tryna get me to rap and teach them how to dance and talking about basketball and just trying to make me act like what they thought a black person was.

I promise you after two years of that I turned into a full on black panther but it cool now. I just look at em crazy and tell them to eat my bootyhole now.

LOL I slick turned into a Black Panther too (that was actually my Halloween costume this year ).

President Obama was elected during my freshman year, and though I'm pretty sure most people at my school voted for him, a lot of people's ignorance came to light. I would never debate the ignorant comments because I didn't want to get accused of defending him "only because he's black." My sophomore year, I was like **** that. I was putting racist yts in their place left and right, and did so with a smile.
