And you're wrong about Britney. She's kinda like Lucy (the movie). We would all kill for Katy to have the same trip except without the destination. Britney's longevity is impressive, why are you grouping her with Gaga?

I'm merely saying Katy's longevity is held up by the fact that her so called FLAVOR is based solely on her music and not her controversy. Britney had tremendous longevity until 2007 happened. Then it was only a matter of years before her downfall. Gaga was polarizing from the beginning and had about as many years of success as Brit did from 2007-2011
Being a non-controversial person means nothing about exploring and expanding musically, hence why Kelly and P!nk continue to grow and have very highly reviewed albums.
Nothing about the DH video was controversial other than the scene they swiftly edited out.
And what musical success has Katy had? What about being the NUMBER ONE female of 2014, the #1 streaming artist of 2014, and the #1 radio artist of 2014? In what world is that anywhere near a flop, or even underperformance. It's not Teenage Dream but it's still better than any other pop girl in 2014
