We need to ask Bey how she's doing it because sis has been working for years to control ALL her business. She owns her own masters, rights, publishing and I honestly don't think it will be long until she doesn't need Columbia/Sony. We need more artist having control over their own business and music.

Rumor had it that the reason it took Bey to release ST song long was because she was negotiating to securing her publishing and whatnot before the album was released. While some may not have 100% control, having like 85% is better then most.

Yeah, but Drake's albums get pushed too. Not to mention Nicki's album wasn't even done when it got pushed back. She just finished it the week of the AMAs.

If both Nicki and Drake ever had label issues to the point of them being agitated, they'd buck up with their lawyers and potentially leave. It's different with Wayne because him and Baby have such a history together and the loyalty aspect is put out there.

Nicki is loyal to Wayne, but if push came to shove and YMCMB was ****ing with her money, she'd do everything to leave. That's the truth.
